Natsu had arrived the second he had learned that Washington wanted him back. They were sitting in his office once again. Natsu was sitting in a chair next to Washington, who had a stern expression, as if he was about to lecture.

"I was younger than you are now.

When I was given my first command.

I led my men straight into a massacre.

I witnessed their deaths firsthand.

I made every mistake..

I felt the shame rise in me...

Knowing history has its eyes on me." Washington told Natsu solemnly. Laurens and Mulligan were outside listening in. Their magic allowed them to hear what was going on.

"Whoa. Whoa!" Laurens whispered.

"Whoa... yeah." Mulligan answered.

"History has its eyes on me..." Washington and Natsu said together.

"Let me tell you what I wish I'd known.

When I was young and dreamed of gloooooory...

You have no control:

Who lives, who dies, who tells your story." Washington continued with the lecture. Natsu simply sat staring at him.

"I know that we can win.

I know that greatness lies in you.

But remember from here on in.." Washington told him.

"History has its eyes on you..." Natsu quoted.

"History has its eyes on you." Washington repeated.
