Natsu was....dead. GRAY!!!! HOW COULD HE DO THIS?! He saw none other than Makarov Washington standing before him.
"Let me tell you what I wish I'd known.
When I was young and dreamed of glory....
You have no control-" He began to repeat a speech he'd given a youthful Natsu.
"Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?" The other ghosts finished.
"President Jefferson." Burr stared at him, still in life.
"I'll give him this. His financial system is a work of genius. I couldn't undo it if I tried. And....I tried." Jefferson sighed.
"Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?"
"President Madison:"
Mard Geer Madison was the next president.
"He took our country from bankruptcy to prosperity. I hate to admit it, but he doesn't get enough credit for all the credit he gave us." Madison gave his regards.
"Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?"
"Every other founding father's story gets told.
Every other founding father gets to grow old." Lisanna was still alive, missing Natsu.
"But when you're gone, who remembers your name?
Who keeps your flame?" Burr asked.
"Who tells your story?
Who tells your story?
Who tells your story?
Lucy...." The ghosts whispered.
"I put myself back in the narrative." Lucy whispered.
"Lucy..."
"I stop wasting time on tears. I live another fifty years. It's not enough!" Lucy cried out.
"Lucy..."
"I interview every soldier who fought by your side."
"She tells our story..." Sting Laurens, Loke de Lafayette and Gajeel Mulligan whispered.
Sting was already dead. Then Gajeel died. Then even Loke passed on.
"I try to make sense of your thousands of pages of writings. You really do write like you're running out of-" Lucy continued on.
"Time..."
"I rely on-" One person Lucy cared for was still alive.
"Lisanna..." The two sisters whispered.
"While she's alive..." Lucy was in between the tombstones of Natsu and Lisanna , still alive. They were both dead.
Lucy flashbacked to the most recent time she'd spent with her sister.
"We tell your story." She recalled.
"She is buried in Kardia Cathedral..." Lucy turned to Lisanna's grave.
"Near you.." She turned to Natsu's grave.
"When I needed her most, she was right on-" Lucy cried.
"Time!"
"And I'm still not through! I ask myself, what would you do if you had more-" Lucy pushed through.
"TIME!"
"The Master, in her kindness.
She gives me what you always wanted.
She gives me more-" Lucy looked skyward.
"Time!" The ghosts called to her.
"I raise funds in F.T for the Washington Monument!" Lucy gestured to it.
"She tells my story..." Washington whispered.
"I speak out against slavery! You could have done so much more if you only had-" Lucy held up a petition to end slavery.
Sting smiled down to her.
"Time.."
"And when my time is up, have I done enough?
WILL THEY TELL OUR STORY?!" Lucy cried out.
"Oh..can I show you what I'm proudest of?" She asked.
"The orphanage..." The ghosts showed an orphanage to Natsu.
"I established the first private orphanage in Magnolia..." Lucy smiled.
"The orphanage.."
"I help to raise hundreds of children. I get to see them growing up." Lucy was in a garden with some small children.
"The orphanage.."
"In their eyes, I see you, Natsu. I see you every-" Lucy looked at a child that reminded her exactly of Natsu.
"Time.."
"And when my time is up, have I done enough?
WILL THEY TELL MY STORY?
Oh, I can't wait to see you again...
It's only a matter of-"Lucy was looking forward to death now.
"Tiiiiiiiiimeeeee..." Everyone in the afterlife wanted their Lucy back.
"Will they tell your story?" She asked ghost Natsu.
"Tiiiiiiiiiiiimeeee..."
"Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?" She asked.
"Tiiiiiiiiimeeee...."
"WILL THEY TELL YOUR STORY?!" She begged to know.
"Tiiiiiiiiiiiiimeeee..."
"Who lives,
Who dies....
Who tells your story?"
Lucy let out a loud wail. She wanted to see everyone again.
