"I may not live to see our glory..." Sting Laurens whispered, echoing through the heads of the Hamiltons.
"Natsu? There's a letter for you." Lucy handed a letter to Natsu, who dismissed it.
"It's from Sting Laurens. I'll read it later."He handed it back to her.
"But I will gladly join the fight...." Another whisper was ignored.
"No. It's from his father." She clarified.
"His father?"Natsu was willing to listen.
"And when our children tell our story..." This one worried Natsu.
"Will you read it?" He asked his wife.
"They'll tell the story of tonight." Lucy was not one to ignore this, so she opened the letter and read:
"On Tuesday the 27th, my son was killed in a gunfight against Boscan troops retreating from South Oshibana. The war was already over. As you know, Sting dreamed of emancipating and recruiting 3000 men for the first all-black military regiment. His dream of freedom for these men dies with him." Natsu had an expression of absolute horror on his face as he turned back to work.
"Tomorrow there'll be more of us..." The spirit of Laurens dissipated.
"Natsu. Are you all right?" Lucy knew of their relationship, and was worried for her husband's mental health.
"I have so much work to do.." He mumbled.

Teen FictionBack to FT musicals! I could not resist the idea anymore. I'm sorry if this is redundant, but it's Fairy Tail and Hamilton! TWO OF MY FAVORITE THINGS! Also, I should probably rate this mature for swears.
