"Hey Lenie," David McKinnon ruffled his daughter's hair, "did you have a good term."
"Merlin you've grown half a foot!" Sarah exclaimed, looking her daughter up and down.
Marlene glanced around and saw Lily hugging her parents. She spotted James having his cheek pinched by his mother, and then she saw Sirius standing beside two sour looking adults and a younger boy.
But he was grinned at her. He mouthed the word 'Lenie' at her, and doubled over in laughter at a joke he had clearly told himself.
"Did you enjoy watching the Quidditch?" Sarah demanded immediately.
"Yeah, it was great," Marlene turned back to her family.
"Let's get home before we start talking about bloody Quidditch," David complained, loading Marlene's trunk onto a trolley.
Erica and Marlene exchanged a glance, "things never change do they." Marlene said to her sister.
"No, they never do," Erica replied with a laugh, happy to see her sister again.

"Oh, Lily it's been far too long!" Marlene flung her arms around Lily's shoulders when Lily arrived at her house in the last week of the school holidays.
"Really Lenie, you're so over dramatic," David shook his head at his eldest daughter.
"Says you!" Marlene pointed out.
David simply ignored her and turned to Lily's parents. "Would you like a cup of tea?"
"No thankyou," Lily's mother smiled apologetically, "we've got to get home, you know how the M4 is this time of day."
"Uh," Davis scratched the back of his neck, he clearly didn't know what the M4 was like at that time of day, "okay."
"Have a good year Lily sweetheart," Lily's father kissed her forehead. The two adults retreated down the driveway and towards a car that was parked there.
In the backseat, Marlene could see a grumpy looking girl, who just so happened to be glaring right at her.
"C'mon inside then girls," David herded them inside and shut the door.
"Thankyou so much for having me Mr McKinnon." Lily smiled brightly.
David pulled a face at being addressed as such, "please Lily, just call me David, Mr McKinnon is my dad's name."
"Dad doesn't like formalities," Marlene giggled slightly, "Dad prefers tripping up and falling on his face."
Lily and Marlene both began laughing. David glared at the girls, before walking further into the house and almost walking into a door frame.

"Erica, this is my friend Lily, Lily this is my little sister Erica." Marlene introduced her sister to Lily.
"Hello!" Erica squealed. Bouncing up and down.
"Wow you're bouncy," Lily watched the little girl bounce up and down.
"She's trying to take off," laughed Marlene, "she been threatening to sprout wings and fly a away since she could walk."
"Hey!" Erica stopped vouching and glared at her older sister.
"Eric you can't deny it, all you've ever wanted to do is fly!" Laughed Marlene.
"Okay, you're right," Erica grinned, "I can't wait to go to Hogwarts and join the Quidditch team!" And then Erica was off. Describing every aspect of Quidditch that she loved.
Lily looked at Marlene, a massive grin on her face. 'I love your family', she mouthed.
