"What?" She asked me

"Don't do that to me Ames, tell me what you said" I responded

"I said that grandpa would have let me take off a day" she said to me

I sighed and looked her right in the eyes and shook my head

"You know that's not true, I'll go talk to him, you have to take my place and teach the students what they need to know about combat and the other stuff that I taught you at home okay?" I asked. She just nodded and she walked out the door.

I sighed as I stood in the elevator of my fathers building and I was in my uniform and I walked out of the elevator once the elevator door opened up and I walked to his office

"Dad?" I asked as I walked in

"Jamie, how are you?" Frank asked

"I'm good actually" I replied and walked over to his desk and sat down "I'm here because of Amy"

"Is everything alright with her? When she came into my office this morning she looked sad" Frank responded

"Yes, that's the thing dad, she asked to see if she could have the day off" I said as he just...looked at me

"Well, what did you tell her?" He asked me

"I told her that she couldn't have today off, I get that she's still mourning dad but she's still in my precinct, under my rules" I said and stood up "no disrespect dad but if she wants to be a fine officer she can't miss a single day of training"

"Jamie, sit back down" he told me and I sat back down "she's graduated already, give her a chance to settle in, if she doesn't like the precinct I'll transfer her to the 5-4, but go easy on her, Danny meant a lot to her and she still misses him extremely"

"I know dad its just...it just feels different without Danny here telling me what to do and joking around with me and Erin" I said

"Like I said, give her time Jamie, it'll take time for her to adjust to being on the job, trust me" he said

"I know dad I know, its just, without pops here no one seems to be holding the family together" I replied

"Excuse me I am" he said "look, there's plenty of officers in this family, me, you, Amy, Nikki, and Erin as our family's defense attorney"

"I know dad, and she shouldn't make up excuses for why she wants to skip out on today" I responded

"Go talk to her or send her in here and I'll talk to her myself, after all, she is one of my officers" he said
