We slowly made our way to the coffee shop that was only a few minutes down the street. He had dropped his arm from my shoulders awhile ago. I decided to wear the same jacket Josh had let me last night. He opened the door so I could walk in, the warmth of the coffee shop warming my cold face. I could feel a small smile on my lips. One so small it was almost invisible, but it was a real smile.

I walked up to the counter with Josh right by my side. We both ordered our coffees and Josh got a donut. He tried to get one for me but I knew it would be a waste of his money. We sat across from each other at a table right next to the large windows of the café. We sat in silence as I stare out the window. It was a kind of beautiful silence. I mindlessly took a sip of my drink, as people walked past. There are so many people who just do things mindlessly. They just go and do what they do everyday. Not even taking any notice to the great excitements right in front of their faces. But I am able to see it. I am able to see him. He's right in front of my face. The one person who actually cares. I looked over at that man and smiled to myself as a stared at him taking sips of his coffee. He looked up at me and returned the smiling, his eyes squinting like they always did. He looked down then right back at me. My eyes didn't move. How can one man make me so happy. Right when I thought I was hopeless and there was nowhere left for me to go and no one here to care about me. Josh is like a guardian angel. He has taken my sadness and crumpled it up. Like the many papers I had so easily done to before.

Just when I thought life couldn't go one without the ink in my pen, Josh has proven me wrong.

"What?" Josh asked playfully.

"Nothing"

"Is there something on my face?" He continued while wiping at his face pointlessly.

"No" I began to laugh at his antics. Then out of nowhere I took some of the frosting off his donut and put it on his nose.

"Hey!" Josh didn't stop laughing while wiping the frosting off with a napkin. "Did I get it all?"

"Here..." I grabbed the napkin and reached over the table with my body and wiped the rest off his nose. Then the world stopped. He was only inches away. I had a strong urge to kiss him right then. His smile fell slightly as we, seemingly at the same time, began to lean in. Then I realized what I was about to do. I looked down and laughed lightly sitting back down. We finished our drinks and headed back to his house. And for the first time in months it didn't hurt to eat or drink. Josh seemed to make everything better.
