I was watching everyone leave, my heart broke in two once I saw their cheerfull faces, was my presence really that annoying? Soon my sorrow turned into anger, I was angry, so angry and the person responsible for my wrath was Max. I was ready to burn him alive yesterday, I admit that I might had been harsh but he had to understand, you don't go ahead and trust someone you met an hour ago, for the first time no less. I couldn't believe he was so careless, what if that woman was a spy or an assasin, this could cost him his life. As my mind replayed yesterday's events I feelt my power coursing through me like a huge heat wave, strong and burning it felt like a volcano ready to errupt. It was consuming me and I was sure that I'd spend hours trying to cool down my nerves. I looked behind me, hoping that at least my sister had a change of heart. No one was coming back, not even her. Then I realized something that destroyed the last shard of hope I had in me, they didn't care about me at the slightest, I wasn't important to any of them, not even my own blood was going to support me. I felt my heart breaking in millions of pieces and then tears poured down like a rain. I couldn't stop my despair or my sadness to take hold of my heart and my soul. Suddenly I remembered what I said when we visited the temple of the Moon Queen. I asked her to give me the courage to confess to Max that I loved him once everything was over. I wanted to make a clear confession, I wasn't expecting him to accept my emotions but I didn't want to keep it hidden. Not that it mattered now but still.
- Why are you crying? A voice said in my mind, snapping me back to reality, no sooner was the sentence complete that I took my position to fight. I knew that voice very well and I didn't like it one bit. It was Eric, the Black Priest. I didn't know how he was here or why he came to me but he certainly had no good in mind.
- Come out and fight me, you coward! I said as I took a look around, I hated the fact that my voice was cracking revealing my sorrow and my weakened state.
- Don't worry I don't want to fight. There is no point in that.
- What do you mean?
- I want your help Emilia. Please.
- Why should I trust you? You're the one who tried to kill both Max and Deus.
- I know it is hard for you to believe me but I am begging you to do it. You are the only who can help me. I vow not to harm you.
- What do you want? I said and my voice was finally the way I wanted it to be, cold and strong.
- I finally came back to life but I am too weak, I had to break free from a very strong and dangerous spell. Thanks to Deus and my father, I used almost all my power to do so. That is why I need your help.
- You think I will help you? Why me after all? I asked, I knew, one thing, he was going to use me to nurish and help him regain his power and also gather information about Max's progress, these could be the only reasons he has to ask ME for help, especially if he knows about our fight. I knew that might be the case but still... something was not right. Why did he come to me for help and didn't choose a village girl? He was risking his life with me. He might know about my fight with Max but certainly he can't believe that I'll betray them for that alone. I cannot imagine what he wants to accomplish with these informations anyway. However, that little request of his could also work in my favor. If I could use him right to gather information about how to end him for good, I could put an end to all this nonsense.
- So what do you say Emilia? Will you help me? I promise I won't do anything sneaky.
- Very well, I'll help you. However, if you try any of your tricks on me I roast you and feed you to wild animals. Do you understand?
- Yes. Follow the path until you reach the mountain's start. There is a cave if you begin walking towards the left side of the mountain. I am there, in the most pitifull state I've ever seen myself into. Please hurry up. He said and I followed exactly his directions while keeping a quick pace. I saw the cave he was talking about but when I came in, no one was there.
