My body felt heavy, I could hardly stand up, then all of a sudden I realized that I was not alone. While raising my head I saw thousands of citizens looking at me with fear and surprised. Oh great! I forgot, seeing a dragon isn't exactly something that happens daily.
- Regina! A familiar voice sounded and as I turned I saw Alex with prince Max and his team coming closer to me. I looked at them and prepared myself to fly. I was younger in comparison to Deus, however I was big enough to carry all of them without a problem. In size, Deus was three heads taller than me and that was pretty much all that made the difference in appearances, in age... well, I was losing by a long shot.
- We're all set. Max said, bringing my attention back to reality. I lowered my wings in order for them to climb to my back, it was a bit painfull having humans stepping on my wings but thankfully, it didn't last long . When all of them were up, I spread my wings and flew away, hoping I didn't accidentaly hit someone while leaving the ground. Everyone was astonished with the view from my back and I was no exception either, being able to witness so much beauty should have been a crime, one that I would gladly commit again and again. Anyway I flew slowly in the beginning to make them get used to the air and the pressure but during noon I stopped since everyone was hungry and we needed food and water. This was also a good excuse for me to take a quick nap before resuming back to my role as a transport towards our final destination. We had a happy chat and I was starting to get to know everyone a bit better, I was still a bit uneasy with the Dark priest but after a summary of his life I could somehow see a few connections between us. After that little talk my mood had been improved greately and thanks to my earlier rest I was able to fly faster, find light breezes that didn't create trouble for my friends and well... I kept on flying the whole night for that matter. Everyone however went sleep peacefully in my back and despite the fact that some of them were serious bad sleepers, I made sure not to wake them up or have any accidents. I would lie if I said that I wasn't feeling sleepy myself but I had to put up with it and continued flying, this was the battle that would determen the fate of both mortals and immortals, I could sleep all I wanted after all this was done. I kept on yawning and at times I could feel my eyes close ever so slightly, it took a lot of effort not to fall asleep but it was all worth it when I saw the sunrise, it was a marvelous sight to behold and I felt lucky that I was one of all those that were able to see such a beautifull scene. Soon after one by one everyone began to wake up.
- Regina? How long have you been awake? Emilia asked me as she took a good glimpse of my face.
- The whole night. I answered honestly, I couldn't risk loosing their trust and besides I had no real reason to lie to them.
- Good heavens you must be really tired!!! Another voice said and I saw a young girl looking at me shocked. That was Kathryn, if my memory wasn't playing tricks on me.
- Kathryn, wake everyone up. We have to land down so Regina can rest. Emilia said and I saw with the corner of my eye Kathryn, procceed with the task of waking everyone up. She explained the situation and Max said that once we passed the borders of Hiendshar I could rest. It didn't take long for me to do so since the air was good and the weather pleasant enough. Once I landed everyone jumped off my back and I went near a corner and fell asleep. It was a deep sleep which renewed me a lot. In all honesty, that might had been the second best thing that had happened to me all day, the first one was of course the sun rise.
When noon came I woke up and from what I could tell everyone had prepared me some food. I was lucky to have them with me, they had caught two roasted deers, there were around fifty with sixty berries and other fruits like apples, pears and oranges, I saw a few rabbits also roasted and water. There's no point on explaining how I devoured everything. Once my stomach was full I began flying again, and sped up a bit, I had to get there as soon as possible. For hours I saw nothing except the blue majestic ocean. However after a few more hours I finally saw Cerberus Island from afar! It was intimadating as I had imagined, the clouds around it were a mix of black, brown and red due to the three volcanos that were obviously active. I left a small sigh of relief, at last we were going to reach our destination and complete our mission! And up to this point there was no sign of trouble at all.
