SLOW DOWN // Sweetpea

Me, Sweetpea, Toni, Fangs and some other serpents sat around a table at Southside High.
They were planning to build a bomb.
A fucking bomb.
So, of course, I'd been sitting here for what felt like hours trying to tell them that it just simply wouldn't work, a war between the North and Southside would be the only thing to come out of it, but of course no one sided with me. Not even Toni.
So when I saw my twin brother walking towards our table, I instantly knew he'd side with me.

Pea notices him too.
"Nice article your girlfriends mom wrote" Pea says.

"Yeh, I saw that." Jug admits, "Dilton Doiley said he was stabbed when a bunch of you guys jumped him?"

"Yeh, He uh stabbed himself, with his own knife" Fangs says to my brother.

"And we didn't jump him, there was a fight, Bulldogs vs Serpents. You can even ask your sister." Pea says, pointing to me. Jug looks at me.
"Oh and you see this? Your boy Andrews gave it to me. Just before his girlfriend shot a gun into the air."

Jughead looks at me, his eyes wide.

"Wait what happened?" Jug asks.

"V shot a gun in the air, Jug. It stopped the fight." I say.

Pea nods to what I say and carries on.
"And of course Northsiders get off Scott free, and the rest of us are hauled in by the police."

"It's payback time." Fangs says.
I roll my eyes.

"What're you guys talking about?" Jug asks.

"What is that?... is that a pipe bomb?" Jughead asks, his eyes fill with worry and he looks at me.

"Fogarty's cousin served in the army. He's gonna build us something" Pea says.

"We'll do it after hours. And it'll shut the Riverdale register down once and for all" Fangs says.

"Jug I've been trying to tell them it won't work. They won't listen." I say, my eyes pleading him to back me up.

"You think blowing up a building is gonna make thing better?" Jughead almost shouts.

"It can't get any worse." Pea says.
I stand up next to Jughead.

"But that's the thing, it can. Come on, this is insane. Just let us talk to Archie and figure this out." I say, Jug nods his head in agreement.

Pea rolls his eyes, looking annoyed.
"That's your guys' answer for everything. Talk and more talk. We don't even know who you stand with. Us, or them. You can't be half a serpent." Pea says that last part to Jug.

Pea taps Fangs on the back and they all start to leave, leaving me, Jug and Toni.

"Great, so Archie has started world war three." Jug says, sitting down.

"Northsiders have been dumping on us for years. Your dad tried to keep the peace, avoid blood shed. But now that he's gone idiots like Sweetpea think there's only one path and one solution. Violence." Toni says looking at me and Jug.

I place my head on the table and sigh.

I sat on the couch at home, reading some book.
I sigh and look up at jug sitting at the table.
"I'm already a Serpent." I say simply.

He looks at me.
"What?"

I stand up and walk over to him, pulling up my hoodie sleeve, revealing my snake tattoo.

"When?" He asks, looking up at me.

"Sometime last year... I wanted to know what dad was up too. And you know what I'm like, I wouldn't leave him alone until he told me. He introduced me to some of the serpents, I realised how important they were to him and I wanted to be apart of that family.
He didn't introduce me to people like Toni because he didn't want me hanging with them all the time, but he wanted me to know that I'd always have that family. He said to me you'd be able to join if you wanted to.
After a while he saw the gang getting more dangerous, more problems started to arise and we stopped talking about the club and he told me wanted me to leave, so I wouldn't get into any trouble.
But I refused and I stayed.
I think it frustrated dad though. I think it still does.
