Chapter 11

Taehyung could feel you nearly scream as he gripped your wrist.

"You're here?" You whispered urgently, relaxing only slightly at his presence. "Listen Tae those men over there-"

"I know. I know who they are." He whispered back looking around desperately for a way to escape. But there was no way. The men were slowly approaching closer with their flashlights and if not for the very dim streetlamps and annoying drizzle they would have caught you both by now. As he glanced over behind him he spotted an alley leading god knows where and the moment he tried to lead you there you stopped him, pulling him back.

"Y/n you need to hide they – "

"The first place they will search is the alleys Taehyung." You hissed under your breath. "That is where they expect people to hide, that is where they will expect to find us."

Taehyung felt the realisation wash over him till it was quickly replaced by panic. "I get what you mean but that's the best shot we have. We can't go back to the office, if they search there, Jinyoung will be in danger too. Out here in the open it won't take them seconds before they get us. At least in the alley we can try to hide, be quiet or something– "

"Take off your jacket."

"What?" Taehyung blinked at you incredulously and you rolled your eyes walking up behind him stripping it off him. Taehyung let you pull his jacket out, hands shaking from the cold as you did.

"Y/n what are you doing?"

"Turn around." You clicked your tongue impatiently when he didn't immediately react and turned him by the shoulder, took a step closer to him and threw the jacket over your heads, hiding you both from the view and the rain.

"Oh." Taehyung looked at the fabric over your heads in slight awe before smiling sarcastically at you. "How genius, this is supposed to hide us?!"

Replying with a tight pursing of the lips and your finger over it, you tried to look beneath the edge of the jacket from which water was constantly dripping as the rain got heavier. Taehyung followed your eyes and turned slightly to notice the boots of people stepping through the slush as they flashed their lights around. Taehyung turned his head back to you who was still concentrated on your enemies around you and felt his heart skip a beat. He didn't know if it was in fear of finally getting caught or in admiration of seeing you with your senses sharp and guard up like that or just affected by having you so close to him, almost sharing your warmth in the damp air in the closed space.

He heard your breath hitch as he noticed a pair of boots getting closer slowly, light bright enough to sense suddenly flashing towards you. You raised your head to look up at him, gripping the edges of the jacket tighter to keep it intact and keep you both hidden. As the owner of the boots clearly got closer you urgently mouthed to him, Now what? and Taehyung honestly didn't know. As you bit your lip thinking fast, Taehyung stared at it doing the same. He was doing this to save you. He was doing this to save you both. That was all.

Quickly grabbing you by the waist he pulled you closer and pushed you back against the brick wall behind you. Your hands grabbed the material of his shirt at the suddenness to balance yourself and within seconds his face inches away from yours, eyes, nose, lips all only slightly hovering over your face. Taehyung watched your expression of shock slowly morph into confusion and then realization. But before you could protest he gripped you around the waist tighter and swooped down planting a firm kiss on your lips. Taehyung felt you freeze in shock, and your hands against his chest even pushing him back slightly in protest but he stood strong. Even though this would make him look like a bad guy he knew it would save you. For the sake of that he was okay with your disgust as well.
