After Killian leaves the house, I lock the door behind me and start making food for myself. I could order food but I didn't feel like having a takeout. Keeping it simple, I decide to have beans on toast. It was the only food I never messed up. The house phone started ringing and I picked it up.

"Hello, Salvatore residence." I answer.
"Hi Blake, it's Jade." I hear.
"Oh hi Jade. Everything okay?" I ask.
"Yeah. We tried ringing your phone but there was no answer." She says.
"About that. I'm not gonna have my phone until tomorrow morning." I say.

I explain more to her about what happened and she and Yuuki agreed to come over for the night. I had homework that I had missed and they were going to help me with it. I finish eating my food and the girls arrive. I unlock the door and let them in, locking the door behind them.

"What homework did we get?" I ask.
"History, Maths and English." Jade says.

I groan and fake pout. The only subject I truly liked was English but that's because I enjoyed writing stories. It helped me deal with difficult situations in life. We sat down and started the homework but I couldn't focus. My mind was elsewhere. Killian. His name was familiar but it frustrated me because I don't know why it was familiar. The name made my heart race but in a good way. A knock at the door snaps me out of my thoughts. I get up and open the door, seeing Killian.

"Officer Rogers, what can I do for you?" I ask.

He looked relieved to see me but a different emotion was hidden on his expression; worry.

"Your mother phoned the station, saying that she wasn't returning for a few nights and asked me to check up on you." He says.
"I'm fine. Jade and Yuuki are here and we're doing homework." I say, smiling.

The more I look at him, the more familiar he looks. He turns to leave but I grab his arm. He turns to me, confused.

"You look so familiar....yet, I have no idea who you are." I mumble.

He looks almost sad.

"Maybe you're confused, Blake. You witnessed something traumatic after all." He says.
"How about you go see Doctor Hopper in the morning?" He adds.

I shake my head.

"I'll be fine." I mumble, frowning.
"Blake, it's okay to talk to someone." Killian says.
"Not when no one will understand." I say, a tear falling down my face.

Killian wipes the tear away and I look up at him.

"Someone will always be there to help you, love." He says, smiling.

That smile.... A smile that could make anyone fall for him. A smile that made my heart stop. I smile at him.

"Goodnight, Killian. Get home safe." I say.
"Aye, I will. Remember-" He says but I cut him off.
"Lock the doors and windows. I got you." I smirk.

He smiles and leaves. I close the door and I get back to the girls. We continue with our homework and when we finish, I decide to get us some ice cream and we watch a film.

"So who was at the door?" Jade asks.
"Just Officer Rogers. My mom told him to check up on me because she won't be home for a few nights." I explain.
"And that long talk you had?" Yuuki asks.
"Just talking about the case. They know the suspects but they need to find them." I half lie.

I trusted the girls with everything but I didn't know if they would understand what I was feeling.

"So is it over?" Jade asks.
"Not yet. Hopefully, it's over soon." I say.

The girls just nod and we continue to watch the film. The girls go to the guest room and I stay in the main room, watching a different film. I grab a blanket and I lie down on the couch. I slowly start dozing off, listening to the sounds of the TV. I soon fell asleep.

*In the morning*

I woke up and stretched, my back hurting me. Sleeping on the couch probably wasn't the smartest idea but I felt comfortable last night.

"You up?!" I hear Jade shout.
"Yeah, I am." I answer, rubbing my eyes.

I get off the couch and make my way to my bedroom. I go to my wardrobe and pick out some random clothes. I look at my shoes and decide between my day to day shoes or my running shoes. In my head, I was more drawn to the running shoes but I couldn't figure out why. I put on the running shoes and grab my bag. I head back downstairs and see the girls ready.

"Ready to go?" I ask.
"Is anyone ready for school?" Jade asks.
"Well, Miss Margret is doing an archery lesson." Yuuki says.
"She is?" I ask.
"Yeah. She wanted a more practical lesson today. Something that wouldn't bore us." Jade explains.

We leave the house and I lock the door behind me. As we head to school, I tell the girls to carry on and I stop by the station. I walk in and I see officers running all about the place.

"Okay, I definitely missed something." I mumble.

I see Killian and I catch his attention.

"What's happening?" I ask.
"Someone counted down too fast. 5 injured, 2 dead." He quickly explains.
"Goddammit. You need to arrest Stephan and Jake immediately." I say.
"That's the thing, Blake. They were in their holding cells all night. There are more involved." He says.

I sigh.

"Back to square bloody one." I say, chuckling sarcastically.

Killian gives me my phone.

"You take this and go to school." He says.
"I can't help?" I ask.
"It's too dangerous, love. We can't have you getting hurt in all of this." He says.

There it is again, that look on his face. A face of sadness masked by an emotionless mask.

"Then be as careful as you can. The town needs their best officer alive." I say, smiling.

I leave the station and quickly jog to the school. My head is filled with worry and I can't stop thinking about Killian. The next victim is my age: 19. That's raises one question; Who is the next victim.
