A Movie Night - 10

We got in the apartment and I take my jacket off. I swear this apartment was always really warm. Maybe that's just me.

"Would you like anything to eat?" I ask Killian.
"I'm okay." He says.

I get a message on my phone and check to see who it is. It's Skylar.

Be careful ;)

She's one sly git. I just laugh and set my phone down on the table.

"Something funny?" Killian asks.
"It's just Skylar. It's fine." I say.

My heart raced as I realized I'm alone with Killian and I didn't know what to do.

"There's no need to be worried, love." He says, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"I, uh, have no idea what you're talking about." I say, trying to think of something.

Then I had an idea.

"How about we watch a movie? I can pull one up on my phone." I ask.
"If that's what you want to do." He says, removing his hand off my shoulder.

We sit on the couch and I go on Netflix. I scroll through my list of movies and decided on 'Alvin and the chipmunks 3'. I'm a child trapped in a teen body. We start watching the movie and I lean slightly into Killian to get comfortable. As we watch more of the movie, Killian questions me why there are talking chipmunks.

"You're asking me about talking chipmunks when you're literally from a fairy tale." I say, looking at him, giggling.
"You've got a point, darling." He says, looking defeated.

We get back to watching the movie and he puts his arm around me. I thought my heart would start racing again but instead, it calmed down and I relaxed more.

"What was it like?" I randomly ask.
"What do you mean?" Killian asks.
"What was it like to be a pirate?" I ask.
"It was an adventurous life. A life on the seas. Not much to tell." He answers.
"And what about yours, love?" He asks.
"Not much to tell. 10 years of happiness then it all went downhill. Bullying, heartbreak. Just an average life." I answer, not giving much away.
"Who broke your heart?" He asks.
"First off is Leo. He gave me so much that it blinded me. I didn't see what he was doing until a couple of months ago. Then there was this girl I dated. That didn't end well." I say, shrugging it off.
"And are you over them?" He asks.
"I'm over them as a person but not the qualities they had. They were caring and loving, kind, they didn't let me down. Then they lost those qualities." I answer, not thinking about it.

It truly hurt me deep down but I've learned not to show it. I've been hurt too many times to show any negative emotion. It's how I've lost people; because once I showed any sign of negativity, it got out of hand.

"And now?" Killian asks.
"Now I'm stuck in a town to defeat the one who broke my heart in the first place." I answer.
"I meant is your heart still broken?" He asks.
"No one's fixed it for me and every time I try, I always fail." I say, looking down.

Killian lifts my chin up so now I'm looking at him.

"Then, love, let me." He says then kisses me.

I don't hesitate and kiss back. The fireworks or sparks you always hear about are cliché. What I feel? I finally feel my heart being fixed slowly. We pull away from each other and I start smiling like a Cheshire cat. I need to stop falling for guys in this way.

"I really hope that smile is for me." Killian says.
"It is." I say, intertwining my hand with his.

I hear the door open and see Skylar and Zoe walk in.

"I see you two had a lovely date." I say to them.
"We did indeed. And how about you two?" Skylar asks.
"We've had a nice night." I say, smiling.
"Hopefully you were careful." Zoe says.
"Nothing like that happened." I pointed out.
"Sure." Skylar says, smirking.
"Oh shut it." I say, laughing.

Zoe and Skylar head to their room, leaving me and Killian alone.
"Are you two always like that?" He asks.
"We're best friends. It's how we've always been." I say.
"And how did you two meet?" He asks.
"Through school. We used to be friends with 2 more girls but that didn't end well." I answer.
"They started accusing us of stuff that wasn't our fault and we didn't want to deal with it." I add.
"And they were cowards!" I hear Skylar shout.

I laugh and hear the girls laughing in the other room. I mean, she wasn't wrong. I won't go into detail but it wasn't nice.

"And it's been you two ever since?" Killian asks.
"And Zoe has helped Skylar a lot." I add.
"And you?" He asks.
"Apart from Skylar, I don't let anyone else try to help me." I answer, shrugging.
"Then I hope you'll let me." He says.

I think about it. Do I really want to risk letting someone in to only get hurt again?

"I'll try." I say quietly.
"Thank you, M'lady." He says, smiling and winks at me.
"Shall we watch another movie?" I ask, rubbing my eyes.
"Aye. Why not." He says.
"C'mon then." I say, standing up.
"And no funny business. Skylar and Zoe are in the next room." I add, smirking.

We get into my room and both lie down on the bed. I cuddle closer to him and put another random movie on. I was already becoming tired but wanted to stay up and chat with Killian.

"Killian?" I say.
"Yeah." He says.
"Why does Leo want me dead?" I ask.
"Because he's envious of what he can't have." Killian answers, taking my hand in his.
"That's his fault. He shouldn't have lied." I say, closing my eyes slightly.
"But then you wouldn't be here with me." He says, squeezing my hand a little.
"You've got a point there, pirate." I say, smirking.

As we sat there in comfortable silence, I close my eyes and start to relax more. I feel my hair being gently played with and I start to fall asleep. As I almost fall out of consciousness, I hear Killian say.

"Everything's going to be okay. I'll be dammed if anyone hurts you love. You don't deserve it."

He means well; but actions speak louder than words. So we'll have to see if he can stick to his word.
