I walk into the kitchen after getting ready for school to grab some juice. Just as I pull the orange juice out and shut the fridge I notice Mrs.Cooper and my Dad are in the living room. Together.
"Hey, Mrs.Cooper?" I say confused. "Is Betty here or something?"
They both start shifting nervously, "Uh, no. Alice stopped by to talk about-"
"My door!" She cuts him off.
"Her door?" He says more like a question.
"Yes, my door. The one Jughead kicked down." She says in a weird tone."
"Right! That's why she's here." Dad nods.
"Okay." I draw out. "I'm gonna go to school now." I set the carton down on the counter and walk out the door.
I shut my locker and suddenly Kevin is at my side.
"Hey, Kev." I say.
"Hey, I was wondering if you we're gonna sign up for the musical." He says as we start walking.
"Uh, no." I say simply.
He starts to ramble, "Really? I mean, you're so talented and I just thought-"
"Stop." I say and put my hand up, "What do you want?"
"A photographer." He smiles sheepishly. "Will you do it?"
"All you had to do was ask, Kev. Of course I'll do it." I say and he hugs me.
"Thank you! Can you do behind the scenes too?" He asks.
"Whatever you need, I got you." I say.
"Great, then I'll see you at rehearsal." He says and bounces off.
I laugh at him under my breath before turning down the hall. Suddenly an arm is swung around my shoulders.
"Hey, Pea." I smile.
"Hey. Sorry I couldn't pick you up this morning. I seriously need to take my bike into the shop." He leans down and kisses the top of my head.
"It's fine don't worry about it." I grab his hand that's hanging off my shoulder. "Wanna hear something really weird? Mrs.Cooper was at my place this morning, talking to my Dad."
"Really? About what?" He asks.
"When I asked them they got really weird and fidgety and said something about Jughead kicking her door in." I say.
"She came all the way to your place to talk about a door?" He asks.
"I don't think they we're talking about the door. I think there's something going on with them." I say.
