"Hello! Earth to Stevie?" Toni waves her hand in my face

"Hello! Earth to Stevie?" Toni waves her hand in my face.

I snap my gaze away from Sweet Pea, who's at the end of the hall talking to Fangs, to Toni. "Huh? Yeah."

"Are you okay?" She asks with concern.

I nod my head and shut my locker. "I'm fine." I turn around on my heel and walk down the hall.

"Really? Because you've been acting really weird the past couple of days. You stare off into space all the time, and it's like half the time you aren't even listening to people when they talk to you." She says. "Is this about what you wanted to tell me at the Whyte Wyrm?"

"No, no. I'm fine, really. I've just been...tired lately." I assure her.

She doesn't seem convince but she goes along with it anyway. "Alright. I see you later." She says and slips into a classroom.

I come to a stop at the end of the hall and look over my shoulder. Sweet Pea looks up for a moment and we make eye contact for just a second before he goes back to his conversation. I blow out a sigh before going to class.

Betty is filing us in on her long lost brother, Chic. She's passing her phone around to show us a picture of him.

"Well, he's very fetching for someone who was on Skid Row." Veronica says.

"Yeah, he's a hottie who looks very familiar to me, by the way." I look over Kevin's shoulder at the picture. He's definitely a Cooper. Same blond hair and blue-green eyes.

"Your adventures in the woods?" Jughead aks.

"I don't know, but maybe if we were allowed to meet this hottie in person?" Kevin asks Betty.

"Chic is still acclimating. And I'm trying to get him to trust me, but my Mom is treating him like a ten year old and my dad is acting like he's the devil's spawn." Betty explains.

"Well, I have an amazing idea." Veronica chirps. "Bring The Omen to Pickens Day and we can all meet him. Everyone's coming, right?" She asks.

"No, because the Serpents weren't invited." Jughead snaps.

"The Serpents were specifically asked to come." Veronica corrects him.

"Yeah, to provide security." He says offended. "It's like we're all on the Snowpiercer train, but the Serpents happen to be the ones eating the cockroaches."

Veronica turns to me for help, "Sorry, Ronnie, I agree with Jug on this."

"You don't have to work it if you don't want to." Veronica says.

Toni walks into the lounge and Jughead sees her and stands. "The damage, as they say, has already been done." Jughead sighs. "Talk to you guys later."
