Kabanata 6

Nang bumukas ang pinto sa opisina ay nasa ganoong posisyon pa 'rin kami, foreheads entwined and breathing is still uneven, he is still holding me dearly. It was like he's taking me all in by just inhaling my scent and somehow, it calmed him. His other hand stayed on my waist while the other is slowly making its way towards my face, cupping my chin before letting me have my own space to breathe. 

The moment that his calloused hand touched my cheek, it sent shivers down my spine, some unfamiliar relief washed over me when he gently started stroking my cheeks, "I'm sorry," And before I knew it, he vanished in the thin air.  Or so I thought, maybe I did a lapse again or something. Basta hindi ko na alam.

Gone were the warmth that once covers me, gone is him who sent my head in a total ruckus. It was all a roller coaster ride for me, especially for my feelings. Iminulat ko ang mga mata ko at tumingin sa kabuuan ng silid, and there I saw three men mending Dean Greg's side and helping him stand, while the other is fixing stuffs that gone array due to the commotion that happened not long ago. 

Kumunot ang noo ko sa kadahilanang hindi na matanaw ng mga mata ko kahit anino lamang ni Travis. Though I already know his name, I still don't know him personally, but there's one thing that's clear to me; He's no ordinary man.

"Lopez, are you sure you'll be fine alone?" Pangatlong ulit na natanong ito saakin ni Miss Grims, dahil pagkatapos ng incident ay pinaupo muna niya ako sa lounge kung saan pinainom ako ng tubig at dinalahan ng warmer.

I smiled at her gesture, though small, it still made its way to the center of my heart, "I can already manage, Miss Grims! You don't need to worry about me, mas malakas pa yata ako sa kalabaw."

"That I believe." She firmly said while holding my hands. "Kung ganoon ay dumiretso ka muna sa Paroe Wing, go get some fresh air first before attending to your next class. I already made some announcements so don't worry and just take your time."

She handed a piece of paper where she made a personal map for me, directing me towards the 'Cold Frame'. She even drew some flower petals in it. While I was on my way to the Cold Frame, Tattiana appeared out of nowhere and just linked on my arms.

She way eyeing me carefully, dragging me towards the side of the hall where only few can see, "Are you alright?"

I nodded before smiling at her. "Why wouldn't I?"

"It's just the whole University is talking about a human wh-" Nang marinig ko naman ang parehong ginamit na pantawag saakin ni Tattiana at ni Travis ay nangunot ang noo ko.

I raised my brow at her, "You sounded like him."

But now, it was Tattiana's turn to raise a brow at me and she even crossed her arms in front of her. "Who's 'him'?" She's giving me that I-know-what-you-did look but then, I think she's getting her hopes up.

"Travis." Was all I could reply. 

Napatigil naman siya ng bahagya ngunit nakabawi naman kaagad nito ang postura at tumingin saakin ng nakakaloko, she's smirking at me while she adjusted her bag. We talked and all habang papunta kami sa Paroe Wing at luckily, kasama ko naman si Tattiana kaya naman isinilid ko nalamang ang paper sa bulsa ng jogging pants at sumunod sakaniya. 

"Alam mo ba, Tattiana, na may something sa mga tao rito?" Bumulong pa ako para wala talagang ibang makarinig. 

She hummed, then  looked at me with curiosity in her eyes, "Saatin lang muna 'tong dalawa," Napabuntong hininga ako habang inaalala ang mga naging eksena, "I just saw a man and a woman changed the color of their eyes right in front of me! And mind you, I am damn sure that it is what it is."
