Hunter POV

We sat at the table and waited on Lord Hann's witch to arrive.

''Hunter you never mentioned to me that you guarded your house?'' he spoke stirring his tea

''How did you know it was guarded?'' I grunted

''I drove by after our phone call to make sure there wasn't something around the outside of the property that could help but then I sensed the magic'' he smiled ''strong like your mothers''

''Yes yes'' I said absent to the present moment

''Charlie'' I heard as I saw a hand in front of my face

I looked up to see a girl, couldn't be older than Willow standing in front of me. Her hair was green and her green eyes didn't go unnoticed. I remember her voice, where have I heard it

''About 10 years back we met at a bar Hunter'' she said dropping her hand ''thought you would have remembered''

I turned to watch her sit

''Now what is it that I can help you with grandad?'' she said looking at Lord Hann

''My girl we lost a dear friend to the black market'' he looked at me with sadness in his eyes ''Hunter's mate was stolen from his house which is protected very heavily with old magic''

''They broke in, took her and left with me nothing of her...'' I rubbed my hand over my mark ''besides an ice cold mark'' I interrupted

''They used a spell called the Incanto Petronomas'' she shuffled in her chair almost uncomfortably ''it is forbidden to use''

''Then why would it still be out there and how do you know about it?'' I questioned

She shrugged ''beats me how they got it but in every generation each witch is told what is forbidden and what is not, that one was on the top as it can dormant the bond''

''How do we stop it or reverse it?'' I questioned

''What creature is she?''

''An Earth Phoenix''

Her eyes grew larger and she moved slightly in her chair

''They are the worste to get that'' she said ''once they meet their mate again...'' she looked around ''they become so scary''

''How'' I leaned forward

''Their senses become on high alert and depending on what the black market has done...'' Charlie paused ''she might catch fire and burn the place down with everyone inside, innocent and guilty alike''

I leaned in closer and almost in a whisper I could hear she was nervous and her breath kept hitching. I felt Lord Quinn put his hand on my shoulder and push me back into the chair, his hand laced with authority

''Charlie is there a time frame in which this must be done or can the mating happen at any stage?'' Lord Quinn asked

''They don't need to re-mate grandad'' she chuckled ''she just needs to see him and then with their marks in such close contact, the love breaks the spell'' she looked at me ''hence why they keep their partners away from each other''

I started to breathe harder and the thought of Willow blowing a place up, it just didn't suit her nature.

''Lord Quinn...'' I turned all my attention to him ''we need to track her''

''Oh I can do that if you have something'' Charlie suggested with her hand open

''I don't have anything...'' then I mentally slapped myself and gave her feather to Charlie ''here''

She smiled

''She is a lovely girl Hunter'' she said smiling at the feather ''such a harsh life''

A tear trickled down her face

''Wherever she is I cannot pin point Hunter, but I can tell you it is inside the Black Market itself''

She handed the feather back to me and got up and walked away

''She has never cried before Hunter'' Lord Quinn remarked ''she must have seen something truly upsetting''

Willow POV

I wasn't quite sure how long Keenan has been gone for but my stomach didn't care, it crumbled and moaned at me, demanding it be fed. I clutched it gently in hope that it would soon shut up.

''Shh tummy'' I cooed ''food will come''

I paced up and down the little cell, hoping that this was all a dream but the worst for me was that I felt nothing when I thought of Hunter, it was like this mark died, our connection died after I had been taken.

Just then there was a knock at my door which caused me to jump

''Ma'am I have brought some food for you'' I heard Keenan say through the door

I nodded to myself and sighed

''Come in Keenan'' I said walking to the corner of my cell. I heard the door open and his nails scratching on the ground

''it isn't much but I figured something is better than nothing'' he said while placing the food down on the bed.

The smell of it wasn't pleasing but I agreed, it was better than dying of starvation.

''Thank you'' I whispered

I snapped around after a while to find Keenan still staring at the food, has he eaten I wonder

''Would you like to share this with me?'' I said making my way the bed

He shook his head but kept staring

''Please...'' I said sitting on the bed gesturing him to sit down, in which he did

He sighed and grabbed a piece of bread and we ate the bread and soup in silence but I swear I heard him sigh with happiness, like he hasn't eaten anything in days.

He wasn't the most favourable to look at but he was something else entirely. I really wanted to get to know this creature more than I already knew.

''Keenan...'' I looked up at him as he averted his eyes away from mine ''do you know what will happen to me next?''

Keenan started to sniff the air and then his whole body became rigid, this wasn't a good sign I presumed

''He is coming, Willow I must go'' he barked out and scampered out the room but not forgetting to lock the door behind him.
