3. Train (moment)

This chapter is not very original. Not at all in fact.

"Where's Natsu? We were supposed to meet at twelve and it's already 12.02."

Those words came from an annoyed Erza Scarlet at 12.02, Monday. In her company was Lucy Heartfilia and Gray Fullbuster.

"He's probably already sick from the thought of going on a train. Hah!" Lucy said with a mean but friendly voice. She and Erza laughed together.

Gray just sighed and looked away. "Oh there he is!" he then heard them scream in synch.

"I'm here now!"

(Please don't kill me)

"I'm sorry! but it's only two minutes, it's not like we'll miss the train or anything." Natsu said, afraid of the things Erza could possibly do as punishment.

"Three minutes." came Erza's reply. "Let's go"

The four of them started walking towards the train station.

While walking the two ladies had their own conversation going on, and neither Gray or Natsu cared one bit about what they said. They just stared in different directions, thinking about each other (of course).

Gray was finally trying to admit to himself that he really liked Natsu. But that also meant he was gay.

He himself never had anything against gays, but he knows people who strongly believe gay rights is wrong.

"The worst part is that I can't talk to anyone about it. I don't know about anyone in Fairy Tail who wouldn't spread it. Why did I join a guild where everyone enjoy gossip so much?"

In Fairy Tail, gossip is like money. It spreads like flower petals during the cherry blossom and it's only a matter of hours before you'll hear the latest news about yourself.

Gray has always been aware of this. He's always been locking up all feelings and thoughts so that no one would notice. But this could become a problem, because love is not his specialty.

He'd never been in a relationship before.

He'd had two other crushes in his life.

This was different from a normal crush though. It was deeper and more complicated.

They finally got to the station. Gray really hoped that the train ride would go smoothly, because he really didn't want to deal with Natsu's motion sickness for longer than needed. And especially not in this crazy emotional state.

When the team went on a train, Erza would take care of Natsu. Or, hit him unconscious. But since this was such a long train ride, there was a restaurant car. And Erza and Lucy were definitely going to spend the whole time there. So that would leave Gray alone with a motion sick Natsu for 4.5 hours.

At least the train wasn't late, (although Erza thought it was but in reality it left 43 seconds after it was supposed to) which Gray thought was good.

They walked on the train.

When Lucy and Erza had left for the cafe the train was just about to leave. Gray got ready to hit Natsu in the face when he said something unexpected.

"Please comfort me instead, Gray."

What.

"Please"

"Why would Natsu want me to comfort him? I mean, it's probably better than being passed out the entire way but.. Me? What? Aren't we like worst enemies in his eyes? Clearly not since he just showed up in my kitchen yesterday but... Do friends comfort each other on trains?"

Just as the train departured the words "of course Natsu" slipped out of Gray's mouth. Really quiet. He's not sure if Natsu even heard him.

Natsu was already looking sick.

Gray decided to give it a shot and put his arm around Natsu. At once Natsu fell asleep.

He definitely looked better than he usually would on a train.

"I have to start doing this. If he's happy I'm happy. And he's definitely more happy on a train with an arm around him since he was able to fall asleep. He's adorable when he's asleep.

I really wish he'd be in my arms forever. No, I don't think that could ever be reality."

Gray sighed. He couldn't think of anything except the fact that his arm was around Natsu. And how amazing that was. And how short this would last. He decided to really enjoy these hours.

Two hours later Gray still had his arm around Natsu. But Natsu was starting to move around restless and Gray decided to do something to comfort him more.

He almost shoved the pink haired head to his lap and started rubbing Natsu's back. Natsu smiled in his sleep.

Then it came to him.

"I want this boy so bad."

He hadn't allowed him to think like that before but now he couldn't resist. Natsu was laying in his lap. He had to do something with the opportunity.

Gray bent down carefully and kissed Natsu's cheek. The cheek was was as smooth as a peach and it was really warm.

He hoped no one had seen this because that would have been, to say it mildly, EXTREMELY awkward.

"What the hell did I just do? Gray, you have to stop being so impulsive."

Kissing this boy's cheek was the best and the worst thing Gray had ever done.

It was the best because he basically kissed Natsu which was what he wanted.

And it was the worst because Natsu was asleep.

"I can't just kiss him. He's asleep for God's sake."

He sighed and then he felt really tires. He fell asleep with Natsu's head still laying in his lap.

After two more hours Erza woke him up.

"Hey Gray, wake up, we're almost there. Oh, I see you decided on comforting him instead of just hitting him, and it seems to have been very effective. That's... cute"

Gray yawned.

"Yea, he kinda fell asleep in my lap. I couldn't just move him."

"Lie"

"Well" Erza turned to Lucy. "Just look at them."

Lucy nodded and smiled like her Otp had just kissed but something with her facial expression said that "awww .

"They're so not getting each other. He's going to be mine"
