------------------------------------

Natsu woke up with a terrible headache. He opened his eyes and looked around. He was in Gray's apartment, on the couch, and he had slept there all night. And he was extremely hungover. Why? He tried to sit up, but his head was throbbing too much for him to even consider it.

He suddenly remembered everything and he wanted to go back to sleep. It was better than feeling all this... emptiness. He started to cry, quiet sobs, and he cuddled into the blanket that had been laid over him.

He continued to cry as he heard footsteps from another room, and figured it was Gray, since this was his house.

And then he just wanted Gray to hold him.

Gray walked to the sofa where Natsu had been sleeping. He hadn't slept very well, since even if Lucy had annoyed the shit out of him lately, she had been one of his closest friends.

"Gray..." Natsu tried to talk, but it was difficult. His head was pounding, but it felt like his heart would stop at any second. At least Gray was there.

Gray sat down beside Natsu and hugged him tightly. Natsu continued to sob, into Gray's shoulder, almost making Gray cry as well.

"Gray," Natsu said as he tried to get some of his composure back, "I have no friends, no family, and I have the blood of my friend on my hands. Why would you still take care of me, and keep me here."

Gray sighed. "Natsu, there's so much I can't say with words, but I can say I love you and care for you enough to stay by your side."

"But Gray... I'll probably have to leave Magnolia. I can't stand to see my frie- the members of Fairy Tail again. The question is, would you come with me?"

Gray seemed to think about it for a second, then he pulled away from Natsu and took of his shirt, showing his chest.

There was no guild mark.

Natsu's eyes widened. "Gray... Oh god, Gray. No... You already... Seriously?" Tears were forming in his eyes.

"I, uh, didn't want you to be alone so I left the guild too." Gray almost laughed at how reckless and stupid he sounded, but he kept it in.

Natsu sighed. "That's so reckless and stupid, Gray."

Natsu kissed the ice mage, and for a few moments his lips was the only thing Natsu knew

Gray started to take off his pants almost subconsciously, but he stopped and pulled away from the warm and comforting lips.

"Gray..." Natsu said quietly after a few seconds of silence. "Where are we going now?"

Gray smiled at Natsu. "Away. You're a dragon, right? Dragons have wings. Let's fly away from our lives and start over."

Natsu nodded slowly.

That afternoon, Gray and Natsu went to Natsu's house. Happy came flying to them as soon as they stepped inside.

"NATSU WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN I WAS WORRIED SICK!" Happy said and crashed into Natsu's arms.

"Uh, Happy, we have to move."

"Why?"

"Have you heard about what happened when I was away?"

"No... I haven't been at the guild in a few days, I wasn't feeling well. Why?"

"Uh... I accidentally... Killed Lucy." Natsu told the whole story to Happy, whose mouth was wide open.

"And now I'm kicked out of the guild. Sorry Happy, you can stay here if you want."

Happy was speechless. He looked at Natsu, waiting for him to shout "JUST KIDDING OH MY, HAPPY YOU'RE SO GULLIBLE" but, to Happy's disappointment Natsu only started to cry. This was no joke.

"Natsu... I don't want you to leave." Tears were forming in Happy's eyes.

"You have Lisanna here, your mot-" Natsu suddenly really realised that he was leaving all his friends. He fell down on his knees and cried like he was in a competition with the Niagara falls. "Your mother," he whispered.

Gray went down on the floor and held Natsu in his arms. "Natsu, it's gonna be okay, it'll be fine, we'll be fine, remember you have me."

Natsu got a quick kiss on the cheek from Gray, and the ice mage stood up again, offering his hand to the Dragon Slayer.

"Uh, Natsu, I can't come with you." Natsu looked shocked at Happy.

"What...?"

"I can't want to leave this place!" Happy started to cry. "I'm sorry Natsu, but it's the only thing I've ever known and I can't move away... I just can't. I really don't want to leave you, but... Someday I'm going to anyway."

Happy turned around and flew out a window.

Natsu turned to Gray.

Gray put his arms tightly around Natsu and after a few seconds on his, suddenly, bare chest. Gray tried to comfort him, but Natsu was devastated.

"Natsu, let's go pack your things."

Natsu didn't move.

Patience. Just be patient.

Gray didn't know how much time passed, but he knew, that it wouldn't matter in the end. Time is so overrated, as long as you're happy then time is nothing.

But he hoped he'd get to spend a lot of time with Natsu.

After however long had passed, Natsu let go of Gray and started to move into the house. He quickly grabbed all the stuff he wanted to bring along and, to Gray's surprise, he was done in a few minutes. He left a note for Happy, just telling him to take care of the house, and then he left through the front door.

For the last time.

Gray followed him in silence, and they didn't speak a word until they were at Gray's.

Natsu looked at Gray and sighed. "Why is my life so horrible?"

Gray leaned down and kissed him. "I don't know Natsu, fate is just being unfair."

"Hey Gray, would you cry if I died?"

Gray was extremely shocked by the question and suddenly he tried to imagine life without the dragon slayer. Ew.

"I only cry in the rain." Gray whispered. "But Natsu, I'd cry my eyes out if you died, you can't even imagine."

Natsu stood silent for a few seconds, but then he walked into Gray's apartment.

"Let's pack your stuff, Gray."
