Natsu and Makarov were sitting in Makarov's office, and Natsu had just come home. The news of Lucy's death had reached them before Natsu's arrival, and Makarov had easily put two and two together.

"Natsu, you were involved in her death, weren't you?"

Natsu stayed quiet.

Natsu couldn't believe himself. He and his stupid ass fighting.

It had taken him a day and a half to walk home. He wished it would've been longer.

After a few minutes of silence, Natsu nodded.

"Yes, master," he whispered. "It was my fault. It was an accident, but my fault." He told the master what had happened.

When he was done, Makarov sighed and looked at Natsu. "I have no choice but to ask you to leave the guild. A person guilty of their friend's death can't be in Fairy Tail."

Natsu nodded slowly. "I see how it is."

Natsu's guild mark was removed and he was just about to leave when Makarov started talking again. "Natsu... I'm sorry, I really don't want to do this. Don't forget about... You know what I mean."

Natsu nodded again and stood. He turned around and walked to the door.

He went into the guild hall and everyone stopped talking. Some started crying, and others looked away in disgust.

Gajeel walked up to him and grabbed his scarf.

"You," he started, "You filthy dragon slayer, made Levy cry. She and Lucy were really, really close friends. YOU CAN'T MAKE LEVY CRY LIKE THAT, YOU BASTARD."

Gajeel punched Natsu the hardest he possibly could. And it wasn't the usual friendly fight punch, it was a punch of hate.

The people who watched gasped, Levy started crying again, and Lisanna comforted her as she sobbed as well.

Gajeel continued to throw punches at Natsu, letting out his anger. Natsu didn't do anything, hell, he embraced the pain, because he had killed their friend. Killed. What a horrible person he was.

Gajeel then suddenly stopped punching Natsu and offered him help him up. Natsu was confused, and hesitated before taking Gajeels hand. Gajeel pulled him up and looked into his eyes.

"Have a nice life, Salamander," he whispered, and then he left Natsu.

On the way to the door, he got a few goodbyes, and then, suddenly, he was outside the guild. And he had nowhere to go. Well, he could go home, but Happy would be there, and just the thought of the blue exceed hurt. Thinking about any friend hurt.

Because what if he'd kill them too.

He walked away, putting his hand on his right arm where the guild mark had been. He felt so god damn lost and alone. A single tear fell down his cheek, when he turned and looked at the guild the last time, he started to cry.

He quickly turned back around and ran away from there. He would go as far away from the guild as possible. And then he realised where to go. The perfect place.

He took a sharp turn to the left and continued to run. He ran and ran and tried not to think about anything, until he reached his destination.

Gray's house.

He knew Gray wouldn't be there, he had been away shopping. Natsu didn't even know if Gray knew what had happened.

He made his way inside- he broke the door, but, he'd make up for that another day- and found the shelf where Gray kept the alcohol. He grabbed a bottle of vodka and sat down on the couch in the living room.

He opened the bottle and drank. He felt it burn down his throat and he smiled. He drank more and more until life didn't feel so terrible.

After two hours he passed out. Drunk, alone, and feeling miserable. But at least he didn't feel anything when he was asleep.

Gray came home and as soon as he saw the broken door, he knew Natsu was there. He carefully limped into his apartment, and found Natsu and the vodka bottle.

He grabbed a blanket and pulled it over Natsu, he brought the vodka bottle into the kitchen, and made some tea for himself. He sat down beside Natsu on the couch, and began to stroke the pink hair.

Natsu opened his eyes and whimpered. "Sorry Natsu, I didn't mean to wake you up."

"I'm the one who should be sorry," Natsu whispered. "I killed your friend and broke into your house. You should hate me."

Gray smiled and looked at the dragon slayer. "I could never hate you, Natsu Dragneel. Now, go back to sleep, and we'll figure things out. Okay?"

"Mmmpf."

Gray smiled and grabbed a book from the table in his living room. He turned on a lamp and started reading.

When Gray got tired, he kissed Natsu's cheek, and could taste a tear. Natsu was crying, silent, in his sleep. Gray got up and made his way into the bedroom. He didn't even bother changing or brushing his teeth, he just laid down on his bed.

Suddenly, memories of Lucy came to him, and he cried himself to sleep.
