Abby's POV

I woke up on a comfy couch and Jace's soft arms were around me. I quickly wiggled out of his arms, careful not to wake him, and grabbed my phone off of the table.

10:43

I looked below the time to see that I had a missed call from my mom on my lock screen of me and Jace. I was hesitant to call her back, but maybe it was urgent.

I slowly crept to the front door and slipped outside into the warm, humid air. I called her back and she answered immediately.

"Oh, sweetie! I know you might hate me, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask again," she said in a rush.

"Well, hello mom! How was your day?" I said sarcastically.

"Sorry," she mumbled. It was silent for a few seconds, then I heard her sigh.

"What did you want to say to me?" I asked her curiously.

"You'll probably say no," she replied a little too quickly.

I shrugged my shoulders and went to sit on the porch bench. "Wouldn't hurt to try," I said to her.

I was being surprisingly nice to her. I was surprising myself at how I was acting. I mean, she is my mom after all. Besides I was curious.

"Well, I wanted you to come back home. I've been going to these, sort of, Anger Management classes. I'm not going to yell or anything if you say no. I just wante-" I had cut her off with a slight giggle.

"Mom. Slow. Down." I said to her slowly. She took in another deep breath. "Okay," she muttered.

"I've been taking Anger Mana-" I had cut her off again.

"I heard you, but I don't know about moving back in," I said while kicking rocks off of the Norman's porch.

She sighed again. "Nevermind, it- it wasn't a good idea anyways," she replied bluntly.

I huffed and thought it over. I had finally made a decision.

"Mom?" I said, not sure if she was still on the line.

I heard some rustling over the phone, but thought nothing of it. "Yes?"

"I want to move back in," I said confidently.

"Really? Oh, joy!" she exclaimed. I playfully rolled my eyes and laughed at my mom and her weird sayings.

"Should I come over?" she asked me.

I nodded my head, then realized that you can't hear a nod. "Yes," I replied.

"Hurrah, I'll be there in a few," she said, getting ready to hang up.

I quickly said goodbye and hung up. I chuckled lightly to myself as I inhaled a deep smell of nature.

Wow, I'm going home, I thought to myself. My thoughts were interrupted when I saw Jace appear from the doorstep.

I flashed him a smile and he did the same while coming to sit next to me.

"So, you're going home?" He asked me suddenly with a smirk on his face.

I turned my full attention towards him. "Oh.. you heard that?" I asked while laughing nervously.

He nodded his head and wrapped his arm around my neck and kissed my forehead. "I'm going to miss not seeing you first thing in the morning," he said in an almost whisper.

"I'm going to miss that too," I said while intertwining our fingers.

"Atleast we'll still be neighbors," he reminded me. We both laughed.

"That's the best part," I replied to him before burying my face into his chest.

I had packed all my belongings and I was almost ready to go back home. My mom had came over a few minutes ago, and was bonding with Mrs. Norman over tea.

I was saying goodbye to Glory when we heard a knock on the door. Jace raced to the door and opened it. His mouth slowly dropped and he immediately hugged the stranger at the door.

Glory and Mrs. Norman sped walked to the door, also. Me and my mom looked at each other in confusion and walked towards the door to see what the big whoop was about.

Jace turned around and cleared his throat. "Abby, meet my dad. Dad, Abby," Jace said, trying to be professional. We all laughed and he shook my hand.

"So, this is the girl you've been telling me so much about?" Jace's dad asked mischievously while wiggling his eyebrows.

Jace blushed and laughed in embarrassment. He elbowed his dad and whispered, "Dad,"

His dad let out a slight chuckle. "Fine, I'll stop embarrassing my son," he said while giving Jace a noogie.

His dad bent down and whispered in my ear. "My son's in love with you," he said with his husky, hoarse voice.

I giggled and blushed. Jace looked at me curiously and I bit my lip to prevent me from laughing.

"He said I'm in love with you didn't he?" Jace asked. I nodded my head and started giggling uncontrollably. Jace pulled me into a tight hug.

"Well, it's true," he said while hovering his arms over me. We heard 'awes' come from our parents and we quickly let go, blushing like maniacs.

"Abby, you ready?" My mom asked me. I took one last look around, as if it was the last time I would see it.

"I'm ready," I replied.

We walked out of the door with suitcases packed in my hands. Jace helped me out by taking one of them.

We waddled over to my house and starting replacing all my stuff in my room.

Once we were done, me and Jace hung out for awhile until he had to go make dinner.

We were standing outside my door, and Jace stopped right in his tracks. He turned around and smashed his lips onto mine.

It wasn't too forceful to where I was out of breath, but more like he was claiming what was his. His lips were soft, as always, and I felt myself falling in love with Jace all over again.

He pulled away slowly, but didn't break eye contact with me. He didn't say anything, he just smiled uncontrollably until it looked like his cheekbones were going to burst.

"You'll always be the girl next door who's, not to mention, adorable," he said to me while flicking my nose.

I giggled and kissed him on the cheek.

"And you'll always be the boy next door who's, not to mention, also adorable,"
