The Meeting

- America's POV -

"Now. Now, stop crying America." Someone says as the car door opens. I look up and see Marlee and Celeste. They sit down next to me on both sides. They try to comfort me by rubbing my shoulders and pulling me in for a hug.

"It's hard to live without your love. So we will help you get him back." Celeste proposes.

"No, I can't crush Kriss' opportunity to live the life she wants." I say as more tears start to fall down my face.

- 2 Weeks Later -

"Welcome back!" Kriss says as all of the selected and their partners come back to the palace for the wedding in five days.

Ugh! I am the only single girl in here! This is great!

I don't want to be here. I can't be here. I can't see Maxon! I need to go! NOW!

I turn and start to walk towards the entrance when Kriss comes into my path.

"Hey America!" Kriss calls and hugs me.

"Hey Kriss." I mumbles.

"Are you okay?" Kriss asks.

Ummm, let's see. My friend is getting married to the man I love. I have to face the man I love when I have tried so hard to forget him. So do you really think I am okay!

"Yes I am fine. I just need some fresh air." I say and I walk out the doors to the garden. I head over to the bench. Our bench.

No! Damn it! He isn't yours he is Kriss'. Forget about him now! Don't think about him! But how do I do that?

I break into tears as the memories flood back. The memories I had worked so hard to get rid of.

"Are you all right, my dear?" Someone from behind asks me.

What's up with everyone asking me that question!

"Does it look like I am all right! And I am not your dear Prince Maxon!" I screamed not bothered to look up at Maxon as I continue to cry.

"Why do we always meet like this?" He mumbles under his breath.

"I don't know! Now leave me alone!" I say and I hear footsteps walking away from me.

Why didn't you let me explain! Why! Why does everything good in my life get snatched away from me? Please I can't take more heartbreak!
