Recap of America's POV: He is quite nice and funny. Maybe I can open my heart for someone else again.

Elliot leans in and I lean in. Our lips meet and I feel a spark. We pull apart and give each other a smile.

Maybe...I will find out soon....

Yes, it is the long awaited point of view of Maxon! I hope you all enjoy!

- Maxon's POV -
- The Next Day -

"Maxon have you seen this?" Kriss asks as she points to a gossip magazine.

Kriss and I have been married for over three weeks. In this time I have accepted things as they are. I can't go after America, though she is always in my thoughts. America doesn't belong to me, Kriss does. I married Kriss and I will have to accept that, forever. Kriss knows about my scars, my father, my feelings, and so much more. We both have come to terms about everything, really. America has to be a distant thought because I have to give Kriss the life she deserves. I actually never got to find out what was in the letter America left for me before my wedding to Kriss. I think that was for the best, since the letter had disappeared from its place. The letter would have shattered everything we have accomplished over these few weeks.

"Maxon!" Kriss snaps and pulls me from my daze.

"Yes, my dear." I say.

"Look." Kriss says pointing to one of her gossip magazines, once again.

I look at the cover of the magazine to see America with some guy. The headline says, 'Has America Singer, a Daughter of Illéa found her soulmate?'. I indeed feel a emotion of sadness and jealousy but I push it down for Kriss' sake.

"Nothing special." I lie trying to convince myself.

"I thought you would be interested since, you know...." Kriss trails off.

"Kriss I don't care about America. You are the one I chose, you are my love. My life. Stop wasting your time pondering over things that were never meant to be." I lie once again trying to convince myself.

"Your right Maxon. I am sorry for wasting your time over such useless things." Kriss says with a look of relief.

I have to keep telling myself that I love Kriss. Or else...don't even think about it Maxon!

"Maxon, when are we going on our honeymoon?" Kriss suddenly asks fed of the lack of privacy as she disposes the magazine in the trash can next to my desk.

"We are supposed to leave exactly one week from now. Mainly because I have some things to take care of before we head out." I say and a smile comes across Kriss' face.

"But don't forget my mom's family is coming to visit the day before we leave. You're the one planning for their little visit." I remind her and she nods.

"I remember. Sadly, I have to go back to planning." Kriss announces with a pout.

"See you at dinner." I say and give her a quick peck on the lips.

"See you." Kriss bids before she leaves. The door closes and I sigh.

I wave for the guard at the door to come closer.

"Go tell the head general that Officer Legar's deportment to New Asia has been canceled." I instruct the guard who immediately leaves to tell the head general.

I wave for the other guard at the door. He walks closer to hear my instructions.

"Call Mallory from the kitchens and Carson from the stables to the throne room." I instruct and the guard goes off to do the task. I walk out the door to throne room, only to make a quick stop to get Kriss.

- Nearly Forty Minutes Later -

It's feel so good to know that Carter and Marlee have gotten what they truly deserve. They have been forgiven for a punishment that they didn't even deserve. Their only crime was love. Anyways Marlee has decided to be one of Kriss' ladies-in-waiting and Carter has decided to be the head groundskeeper. They also are the first casteless people in Illéa and now live under the protection of the palace. Casteless...it was supposed to be what America and I would do together. But fate wants it to be Kriss and I's project. A project I will accomplish no matter what. It is what I will strive for. For everyone in Illéa to be casteless. Forever.
