We are like the moon and sea
Close and far, close then far
In only the span of a dayBut your smile is best compared to the sun
Lighting up the world
Bringing joy to those who are in its presenceThe weight of this secret is like a hundred rocks
On my shoulder, waiting to topple
Waiting for me to spill my feelings like waterAs I lean into your arm
feeling the warmth of your lips on my forehead
I think of how easy it isI think of how easy it is to love you
How easily I let you in
And I laugh to myself for my stupidityI kiss your lips
I hold you close to me
And I am happyWe tease and we laugh
I pull away from your embrace and run
But you aren't mineYou aren't mine when you catch me
You aren't mine when I laugh until it hurts
You aren't mine when you kiss me and smileYou aren't mine when you watch me dance
You aren't mine when you pretend you hate it
You aren't mine when I laugh and make you joinYou aren't mine when we hold hands on the swings
You aren't mine when you pull my body closer
You aren't mine when we kiss in the darkAnd it's a bit sad, I admit
But it's too perfect to change
Because you aren't mine and I'm not yoursAnd that's exactly the way it should be

PoetryYeah love sucks but I guess it's good inspiration (I started this book in 2017 so it starts a little rough, but my writing has improved a lot over time and I like seeing the progress so im leaving the earlier work)
