You are the worst part of highschool
Traces of weed leave you addicting
As good young girls try your drug
Looking back on those days
With a cigarette in hand
And muffled tears of unwell decisionsYou are the reason girls grow up
The reason innocence can't be taken back
In more ways than one
While they look over now and see a replacement of you twirling their wedding ringYou are the reason I smile
Young and curious about why you intrigue me
You don't match what they tell me you do
Your addiction is simply cologne
And your laugh is why I'm hooked
I have time to grow up, unlike themYou are the reason I'm young
You keep blood rushing through my veins
Through my cheeks, your adrenaline pumps
Your voice makes me redder
Keeping my heart at a healthy pace
I mistake you for being my breathYou are the reason I'm ready
Im ready for you and what comes next
Im ready for my bullet
Im ready for my tears
Im ready to handle what they couldn't
And I look back on those days
When it was true
With a cigarette in hand
And muffled tears from you
