Valerie's POV:
I sat across the table from her, watching her eat a crepe. I couldn't help but smile as the early morning sun kissed us both. I looked over to see the sun rising beautifully in the sky, the early morning air sending light chills down my spine. A sense of happiness seemed to ease over me; something I hadn't felt in over a year now. Something that was foreign; a feeling I swore I never wanted to lose. But, as I focused my eyes back to the beauty in front of me, I couldn't help but love the look she adorned. Her hair was in a messy, yet eloquent, bun. She wore a loose fitting plain blue V-neck with only a pair of shorts. I watched as she pulled her leg up, resting her elbow upon it, leaning back into her chair while glancing upon the beautiful scenery before us. She lifted her cup of tea towards her lips, her eyes falling to me.
"What...?" She asked, her voice groggy from her slumber still. I shook my head, the smile never faltering from my lips. She pulled the mug away from her mouth, a small smile forming on her lips. "Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked, hoping I'd explain my reasoning. I averted my eyes, picking up my croissant that rested on the plate before me. Taking a bite from it, I looked at her; butterflies erupting in the pit of my being as her chocolate eyes were trained on me. It was the same look she had given me last night. Goosebumps made their presence known as memories flooded my thoughts.
"I think I'm... falling for you." Her voice had trailed off. I froze in my place, my eyes bulging out of my head probably. I couldn't believe what I just heard; I must be dreaming, right? Lyndsey Ryan didn't just tell me she was falling for me... right? I felt her turn me towards her, resting on her elbow as she looked down at me. I laid on my back, my hair splayed around me as I looked up at her; my heartbeat skyrocketing as her eyes trained upon mine. Once again, the moonlight was making her skin radiant; her eyes seeming more of a chocolate color as they bored into me. The look in her eyes was killing me; a look of uncertainty. "Can you say something?" She whispered, a frown forming on her lips as she looked down at me. But, instead of speaking, I wrapped my arms around her neck. Her body was tense at first, but then I pressed my lips against hers. The feeling of her emotions pouring out through our kiss, overwhelmed me. It was intoxicating to feel her express such energy towards me. The kiss wasn't long, but that wasn't the point.
"Lyndsey," I started as I pulled away from her. Her lips were slightly swollen as she licked her bottom lip, her eyes focusing once more. I dug my fingers in her hair, loving the feeling of her above me. "I-I..." I stammered, unable to get what I wanted to say out vocally. Clenching my jaw, I averted my gaze from hers; my cheeks were heating up by the moment as if I was a specimen under a magnifying glass. However, something compelled me to look back at her. Her eyes were filled with so many different, raw, emotions that she's rarely shared. What surprised me, was the single tear that escaped past her. Instinct caused me to wipe the offending droplet away from her cheek. I watched as she closed her eyes momentarily. "I think I am too..." I found myself whispering without even thinking about it. Her eyes opening quickly; obviously surprised by my words. "Why do you look so surprised?" I asked, leaning against the pillow more. I watched as a gentle smile grew over her lips.
"Because," She breathed out, sighing in contentment as she leaned over me. I looked into her eyes, biting my lip, "I'm just no good for anyone. It's the main reason why I was never seen with anyone," She laughed, shaking her head. "I'm a model; most people only want to be with models because they are attractive, not for who they are. Guys tried so hard to hook up with me. It was to the point of straight up annoyance. But..." She trailed off as she looked at me, "God, fuck me, this is some deep shit, what are you doing to me?"
