Lyndsey's POV:

One of my favorite places in Paris was The Louvre. The artwork there was stunning and breathtaking to say the least. As we walked out of the building, it reminded me how much I missed coming here. I don't really show much of myself to anyone, but the afternoon spent with Valerie made me wish I'd come here more. "So, how did you like it?" I asked as I slipped my hand in hers. Valerie sighed in contentment, her head leaning against my shoulder lightly.

"It was amazing... though I'm not going to lie," She started, "I never really pegged you as the museum type." She laughed, causing me to let out a chuckle. Of course, she would think that; I never even expressed my love for it before.

"Are you saying that because of what I do for a profession?" I teased, knowing that wasn't the case. I looked at her again, loving the genuine happiness that seemed to radiate her skin.

"No, you just don't really seem like you like art." She expressed with her free hand, "I mean, we obviously know that I love to draw. You've just never said whether or not you like it before is all.." I felt her squeeze my hand lightly, sending butterflies through me. Did she realize what this was doing to me?

"Well, you also didn't know I could play video games before either," I smirked as we walked along the sidewalk. I was loving every moment of this day. Besides the awkward encounter with the teenagers earlier; it went by smoothly. "I also love History." I blurted out of nowhere. We stopped in our tracks as she turned towards me, her jaw dropped. Of course, she'd be surprised by that.

"What?" She asked, a smile on her face. I rubbed the back of my neck; an obvious sign that I felt embarrassed or anxious.

"Yeah... I normally don't tell people that." I felt my cheeks heating up, "It's uh... something I've always loved. My mom was a history Professor; she always told me amazing stories of like war, ancient Rome, the Egyptians, how the nations were formed. She would tuck me into bed every night... telling me stories of the past. She told me it was important to know the mistakes of the past so that we can change them in the future." I found myself rambling on without thinking, "She always took me to historical landmarks back in Australia... She always knew everything about wherever she took me. I found it to be... enlightening? I'm not sure if that's the right word. But she was intelligent and wise and I guess you could say that I always looked up to it." I frowned with my nerves on a tightrope. She looked at me with a sympathetic look adorned on her features. Letting out a breath, Val pulled my hand to her lips, leaving a light kiss on my knuckles.

"Your mother sounds like she was an amazing woman..." She said quietly. I sighed as I looked onward, noticing the sun was beginning to set in the distance.

"She was... I miss her all the time. I wish I could honor her in somehow." I frowned, shaking my head of these sad emotions. "I hate to say this, but we have to get going. We have to be at the gathering soon; you know Michele." I smiled lightly as I looked down at her.

"I really don't want this day to end." She groaned, her cheeks wiggling as she clenched her jaw. I didn't bother looking around as I leaned in, kissing her on the lips. Placing my hand on her waist, I pulled her closer to me. I honestly hadn't felt this happy in years, but unfortunately, we had to get going. We parted moments later and the look on her face made my heart soar. Her eyes were still closed, her lips swollen as her cheeks were flushed.

"And to think you were just some jerk with a hot accent when we first met." She smirked as she walked on, leaving me flabbergasted by her comment.

"Seriously?!" I laughed as I ran after her. "Why does everyone love the Australian accent?!" I yelled after as she laughed slightly ahead of me. But, being taller has its advantages; longer legs meant longer strides so I caught her easily. She smiled as I turned her to face me. Despite people looking at us, I didn't care as I stared into her breathtaking chocolate orbs, kissing her once more.
