Chapter 1

Just letting you know, if you haven't read my first book, Divergent Hight, then this wont make sense to you. So i suggest you go read it!😊

Tris POV

The room is exploding before my eyes. I don't know where any of my friends are. I hope they escaped, I'd rather them live then me. I cant even see 3 feet in front of me so, I remain on the ground. I hear nothing but screams and aggressive soldiers, or whoever they are. For all I know my friends could all be dead. My stomach sinks, it's amazing how just like that, your life can change, and everyone you have ever known, can be gone. I pull my knees to my head and feel a tear slide down my cheek, I let it. I have no one now.

I feel a hand grab mine and pull me up to me feet. At first I think its a soldier and I'm about to scream but the hand is soft, and gentle, but seems tough at the same time. This hand is definitely familiar. It's bigger then mine, no doubt about that. I don't hesitate, I don't feel like dying right now, so I let the person lead my to safety.

We are running now. And whoever this person is, is much faster then me. I can barley keep up, but I do my best. I hear footsteps following behind but they seem far away. I just hope whoever is holding my hand, isn't going to hurt me.

Suddenly I hear a very loud gun fire and I feel a sudden urge to scream out in pain. I look down and through the smoke and see fresh red blood dripping down my arm. I fall to the ground.

"Tris!" The voice says. The voice is full is frustration and partial anger. Wait, It's Tobias!! I mentally smile, but on the outside I'm on the verge on screaming.

Tobias picks me up and starts running as fast as he can. That's all I can remember until my world fades into darkness and my body goes limp.
