Tobias POV

Tris ended up dozing off with her head leaning on my shoulder. I watch her breathe in and out in a steady, soothing, rhythm.

I lean over slightly to peek out the train cart and see the ferris wheel getting closer in the distance. Well this is it. I'll either be the happiest man on earth, or i'll be heartbroken for life.

"Tris," I softly whisper in her ear. "Wake up." I say stroking her hair. She stirs and opens her eyes slowly.

"Mm?" She says sitting up slowly. I light up.

"Lets go!" I say. Ill be honest, I'm not very tired. All these thoughts and nerves are keeping me wide awake. She yawns and rubs her eyes. I offer her my hand to help her up. She stands slowly and I get ready to jump.

I grab Tris's hand, and together we bend our knees and jump. I land steadily on my feet while Tris stumbles a bit almost falling, probably because it's 2 in the morning. But I put my hand on her back to steady her. She smiles and we walk over to the ferris wheel. I feel my nerves getting stronger and stronger the closer we get. My mind is repeating the line I'm going to say. Nit too long and cheesy. But short and sweet. Once we approach it, she looks at me as if asking for permission to climb. I have a feeling she knows what I'm up to. So, I nod and she runs to the ferris wheel quickly climbing up. I take a deep breathe and then smirk.

"You're not going to jump are you?" I ask. I think that caught her by surprise because almost a year ago, We were doing the exact same thing. She pauses, turns, and smiles.

"No just trying to get a good vintage point." She says and continues to climb.

"Good thinking." I say trying to hold in a laugh. I start to climb and feel my body tense. But I have to make it to the point when we first climbed, or else this plan won't work. She looks back and me for a quick second.

"You don't have to come." She says. And I chuckle.

"You shouldn't go alone, you took a beating." I say. And I hear her giggle above me. I look down to check how high we are. Not a good idea. I immediatley stiffen and she turns once again.

"You're afraid of heights." She says in a sarcastic tone.

"Everyones afraid of something." I reply. We finally get to the near top and we stop and enjoy the view.

"So can you see the other teams flag?" I ask. This is it, I feel my heart racing and my hands sweating.

"The wha-" she turns and sees nothing. I quickly grab the small box out of my pocket and kneel on one knee as best I can. She turns back around and gasps.

"Beatrice Prior, I don't want to make this long and cheesy. But I want you to know that you are a huge part of my life, you've changed me and helped me through the tough journey of life. Anyways, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So will you marry me?" I ask. She is on the verge of tears but she nods her head violently and I feel a sigh of relief hit my body. I pick her up and kiss her. After a minute or two, I pull back and take the ring out of the box to slide it on her finger. I whipe the tears from her cheeks with my thumb and smile at her.

"I love you." I say. She smiles and says

"I love you too."

I take her hand and lead her down the ferris wheel, towards the train tracks. I catch her admiring her ring a lot as we walk back. So I sling my arm around her shoulders and kiss her head. Now i can finally call her mine, forever.
