Chapter 34: Confrontation

GABIS POV

I nervously walked through my apartment door to meet with Niki sitting on the couch on her phone. She turned and faced me.

"Hi." I said quietly as I set my bags down by the door.

I walked closer to her as she just watched me.

"What do you want to talk about?" I asked as if I didn't already know.

"How was New York?" She asked with an eyebrow raised.

"It was actually really good." I said hesitantly.

"I wonder, was it because you had company?"

"Nik, I was going to tell you-"

"What? That you were back together with that asshole?" She cut me off.

"Don't call him that." I said defensively.

"I was waiting until he proved himself to me before I went public with our relationship again. I should've told you, I just didn't want to look stupid if he hurt me again."

"Why do you keep giving him chances?"

"I think I love him."

"You what?!" She gasped.

I nodded slowly, realizing that I love Blackbear.

"You really think he's the one for you?" She asked sincerely, lightening the mood.

"Yeah, I do. And I think he loves me too, as crazy as that sounds. We went to a club last night and got pretty drunk and he told me he loved me."

She gasped.

I am even shocked. Who would've thought that I would be the one who changed him? Or at least I'm trying to.

"Well, as long as you're happy and he is treating you right, but this doesn't mean I like him." She said seriously again.

I giggled and brought her in for a hug.

"I'm sorry for keeping that from you. It won't happen again."

"Alright, alright. Get off of me and tell me about your trip." She laughed giving me a playful shove.

I grabbed my phone to check some emails before bed and saw I had a bunch of texts.

From Lisa: Don't forget we have that meeting for Forever 21 with all the other social media influencers tomorrow. Be ready by 10 am.

I sighed and set an alarm for 8:30. I never get to sleep in anymore, but I am extremely excited about this project with Forever 21.

Then I checked my second text.

From Bear: imy already. friday.

To Bear: Friday. Goodnight (:

Then lastly, the final text was from Franny.

From Fran: Hey! Are you coming over this weekend with Niki? I feel like I haven't seen you in forever ):

To Fran: Yes! Her and I talked about it today. I miss my Fran❤️
