On The Verge

"Y/N! Hey, I'm over here!" Michael waved his hands in the air and yelled, making everyone look at him. I dropped my head down in embarrassment and walked over to him.

"Hey lemon boy, don't talk so loud." I sat down in front of him, scolding him. "Oh, sorry. I didn't think you cared what other people thought about you." I furrowed my eyebrows and looked up at him. "What gave you that idea?" He crossed his arms over his chest. "I mean, look at you."

He uncrossed his arms and pointed at my hoodie. "Well, that was kind of a low blow. This guy goes from really nice to really douchey in like two seconds. I'm not gonna let this get to me, he's probably just joking anyway." "It's not a crime to dress comfortably, right?"

He looked at me and smiled a bit. "Sure, but aren't you supposed to be a girl?" "Jesus Christ, he's talking like Alyssa." "I mean, why does the way I look affect the fact that I'm a girl? I'm not trying to be a feminist or anything, but that's kind of a shitty thing to say, isn't it?"

He laughed a bit. "Well, aren't we supposed to both be assholes?" "Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that." "Yeah, the asshole crew." I  looked down at my hands. Not because I was gonna cry, or because he hurt my feelings, just I didn't want him to look at me when I was so absolutely dumbfounded. I still couldn't comprehend the fact that he was in front of me.

"I'm sorry, are you okay?" I looked up to see his stupid face looking all apologetic. "What are you doing? Don't forget you're an asshole." He turned a bit trying to avoid any eye contact. "Oh yeah, I umm don't care about your feelings...bitch." I looked at him the way you look at a toddler trying to get up on a chair.

"You don't actually have to be an asshole, I like you when you're nice." "Don't be stupid fish girl."  "I'm not joking. If you want we can be like a good and bad cop duo."

He finally looked at me smirking.   "Why can't you be the good cop?" "Well, isn't that obvious?" I gave a confident pose and smiled wide. "Because I'm an asshole!'
