I don't know how I got home. All I remember is gentle hands guiding me to the car and the warmth of my bed. And then I woke up the next morning and got ready for school.

As far as I was concerned, no one knew what was going on and it was going to stay that way for as long as I could keep it. Not even Molly. She didn't need to be worried about it. She had other things on her mind, anyways.

I pulled on my Doc Martins and grabbed a granola bar from the cupboard. "I'll be home late tonight!" I called, not caring if Mom could hear me.

I pulled my long hair into a ponytail and grabbed the keys.

This day will be fine, as long as no one finds out.

Of course, that was wishful thinking

Of course, that was wishful thinking.

"Hey, are you alright?" Grayson was instantly by my side when I walked through the door.

"I'm fine, sheesh. We aren't friends, remember?" I instantly regretted the words, but didn't take them back, and lost Grayson once more.

"Hey!" Molly bounced up, her curls moving with her. "You're dressed up today." She noted, taking in my Elphaba-like outfit.

"I guess." I fidgeted with the hem of my dress.

"Is something wrong?" Her bubbles popped.

"No, no. I'm fine." I straightened. "Never better."

She nodded solemnly. "Okay."

And then she was gone, probably to corner Grayson for extra practice time.

I sighed, leaning against my locker. I knew better then to tell anyone, but I didn't have anyone to talk to. Usually when this stuff happened I would talk to... Dad.

I tucked a stray hair behind my ear and headed to the bathroom, hoping some cold water would clear things up.

No one else was in there, so I quickly splashed some cold water in my face. When I looked back at my reflection, I saw someone I hadn't seen since, well... since the last time something like this happened. Let's just say... there's a reason Mom and I aren't so close anymore.

I took a deep breath and entered the halls of hell once more and headed to class. If I focus, I'll just forget about my tragic personal life, right?

Yeah, that doesn't work.

It's lunchtime now, and Molly and I are joking as if nothing's wrong. Of course, for Molly there actually isn't anything wrong, but I'm struggling.

My phone rang. It's my mother. "I'll be back in a minute," I tell Molly, then rush out the lunchroom door.

"What?" My annoyance seeps through.

"How could you not tell me?" Ooh, looks like the tables have turned.

"Tell you what?" I feigned innocence.

"About your father?!" She shrieks. I hold the phone away from my ear and roll my eyes.

"I thought you knew. Didn't you come pick me up last night?" I was curious to know what happened.

"No." She sounded disgusted, as if the very idea of picking up your only child was preposterous.

"Right. Bye mom!" I exclaimed brightly.

I ended the call, despite her protests, and went back to the lunchroom. Where nothing was wrong.

A/N: Ya, so I don't usually do character descriptions, but I did one for Grayson a while back so I figured I might as well for the rest of 'em. More details will come in later. Good night, lovelies💜
