Mortal Kombat the Tournament

A/N: Attention! The following is a non profit story. I do not own Mortal Kombat. This is to ensure the audience that this story has nothing to do with any of the franchises. Mortal Kombat is owned by Warner Brothers and Netherrealm Studios. Though I do use some things from the movie and the video games I don't intend to make profit. I only made this for amusement. All my story mainly comes from Mortal Kombat 9 or Mortal Kombat (2011) the video game. Some other things are from Mortal Kombat the Movie from 1995 or from other Mortal Kombat games such as MK: Armageddon. Characters are taken from Mortal Kombat games all over. Some characters and their costumes in my story are either from Armageddon or Deception. My character and a few others are not part of the Mortal Kombat universe.

Chapter One

Chapter One

The Mortal Kombat Tournament. It begins in about two to three weeks from now. I'm supposed to get on a boat so that it can take me to some island. At the tournament all of my abilities and skills will be tested. I'll be fighting people from all over the world who are considered the strongest. From what I've heard of the tournament from my mother, is that it's been going on for thousands of years. It must be an old tradition. My whole life I've been training under several mentors so that I may enter the tournament. I know many Martial Arts styles such as: Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Hapkido, Judo, and Kickboxing. I can't turn back now this is my destiny.

I have been invited by the shapeshifter/sorcerer Shang Tsung himself. Though he came disguised as one of my mentors I saw through it immediately and told him to not play any tricks. He was impressed that I saw through his form and he changed to his real form. After that he invited me to participate in his tournament. Without hesitation I told him that I've been waiting for this opportunity.

I never liked Shang Tsung. He is a deceiver to many. Such as the great swordsman Kenshi. He steals souls of many just to maintain his youth. This was a curse set upon himself. He was offered power from a demon that he sought out. He was given the powers but he lost his youth and forever has been taking souls to maintain alive.

My mother told me that in this tournament there is no mercy. Many great fighters have died. Participating in this tournament alone is a great honor for all. I could make some friends while I'm there. I don't have any due to the fact that I train all the time and don't have time for social life. Ever since I could remember I've been training with my father and sister. My sister was older than me but I never learned her name since a few days afterwards she was kidnapped and on the same day my father was murdered. My father was a part of the Lin Kuei. An order of assassins that stay to the end. There is no leaving the Lin Kuei or else it is seen as an act of betrayal. They grow close together and are all essentially a family though hardly anybody there is related except for the grandmaster himself and his son are the only family there. My father knew that we couldn't live with the Lin Kuei so he decided to run away. That was an obvious failure since they tracked him down eventually and killed him and taking my sister.

Ever since I lost my father and sister I was an orphan and I had to be adopted. I couldn't live with mother since she is an elder god and has no time to raise a child. Though she has always been watching me and giving me advice to prepare for the tournament. I was taken in by a rich family. It was a man his wife and a daughter who was an ungrateful whore. She always played as the nice girl but was always sleeping with whomever she laid eyes on. She was around 20 I'm assuming. She's in college so she doesn't live here anymore and only comes on holidays that I've never heard about. Such as Christmas and a thing called Easter. These types of people have strange customs. I prefer the old way that I had when my father was still alive. Where we got to train for a few hours and as a break we could eat or sleep or do whatever. Then we had to go back to training and eventually end the day and continue tomorrow. I didn't go to school when I was with my father or sister. Though here it's much different they forced me to go to school for years which was taking up my training schedule. For years I learned nothing important or relevant to the tournament. Every year I would ask the new teachers if they knew anything about the actual tournament, and if they did why aren't they teaching us about that? Though no teacher ever knew and the students laughed at me like some kind of fool. Do they not know of what could happen if we lose the tournament? If they go somewhere to school to learn then why haven't they been taught this? I eventually gave up asking and continued on with the waste of time to spend there at school. I was the best student there for years. Nobody  has achieved my "level of intelligence" before. I didn't even try everything was relatively simple. Some people were much slower and couldn't even answer the most basic questions. Though as I progressed through high school it seems as though I was the smartest person there. Everyone seems so stupid. Nobody seemed to care either. I didn't even want to be in school at all. I'm not learning anything about the tournament. What's my purpose in learning chemistry or algebra? Calculus sure isn't going to help me figure out where my sister is. Maybe if she's even alive that is.
