Chapter 5
I was waking up when I noticed that I was detained by some sort of energy, that kept me afloat. Like electricity, or something like that was tied around my arms and legs, but not causing any harm, or even able to really feel it for that matter. I look around, and notice that I'm not the only one here, detained like this. To my left is this new Sub Zero, who seems unconscious, and to my right is Hikari, who seems to be awake.
"Psst. Hikari." I attempt to whisper to her. She heard me and looked over.
"Kana?! They got you too?"
"I purposely attempted to get captured so I could get you and him out." I say using my head to point at Sub Zero.
"How do you plan to get us all out?" Hikari asked.
"Frankly, I didn't think that far ahead, but I'm sure I'll figure something out."
"Let's just see how this plays out. Nothing has happened here for many hours." She said as she looked at the door ahead of us. It was massive, and looked like we were in some kind of laboratory. After a few minutes the massive doors opened revealing the same two cyborgs that brought me here, the red and yellow ones. They completely ignored Hikari and me and went straight for Sub Zero. I noticed that nearby the cyborgs there was a table where my weapons were laid on. I noticed that since Hikari can summon her weapons, they couldn't be confiscated. I wonder if we can use that to escape. If she can be able to throw her blade then I'm sure we can at least be free of this detainment. The two cyborgs then, shock Sub Zero to awaken him. A few seconds later, and he's wide awake. They look at each other, nod, then just leave. Confused, I just look at them, as they exit the room.
"Hikari." I attempt to talk to her once more.
"Yeah? Thought of something?"
"Do you think you're able to summon your blade and throw it without touching it?" I ask her.
"I haven't attempted that, but I'll try." She says as she concentrates. She closes her eyes, and in front of her appears her blade. Afterwards, she tries and tries but the sword remains in the same position, and after some time it just vanishes, the same way it appeared.
"Sadly, it appears that it can only move when wielded by me." She says slightly disappointed in herself.
"No need to put yourself down. There's always other alternatives, of which I'm sure Frozone over there can help us with." I say looking over to Sub Zero.
"You were a fool to even attempt this rescue... I'm sorry, I'm afraid I don't know who you are. Are you a new recruit to the Lin Kuei?" Sub Zero asks me.
"Sadly, I'm not affiliated with your kind as my father was. I just don his armor and weapons, in an effort to continue a legacy, or even create my own. That was the plan really, but I've come to want revenge on the Lin Kuei, specifically against the Grandmaster, and if not him then the next best thing, his own son, Sektor, but I haven't seen him of late, with all of you guys turning into cyborgs."
"You mean you didn't recognize him? Sektor was just here, accompanied by Cyrax." Sub Zero says.
"The red and yellow ones? That would explain the yellow ones powers from earlier." I never would've believed that they would do such a thing. Didn't Cyrax go against this? Why is he one of them then?
"I believe Raiden mentioned to me about something along those lines back at the temple." Hikari said.
"And who are you?" Sub Zero asked.
"Right. Forgot to introduce ourselves. I'm Kana, and the other one is Hikari." I say.
"A pleasure. Frozone, was it?" Hikari asks Sub Zero.
