Mortal Kombat: The Road to Armageddon

Chapter 13

Today the tournament continues in some kind of throne room. Sareena got up early and had already put her clothing on. I woke up second since Nina wanted to sleep an extra hour when I tried to wake her. The tournament doesn't start until nightfall like the first day. Sareena sees me wake up.

"I hope you don't forget about my offer to you. My services to you are forever. Unless you change your mind." She winks at me again and lays down on her bed. She's almost too much for me in the little time we've actually spent together. "Besides that, do you know who's gonna fight today Kana?"

"I've heard Scorpion will fight until he gets his challenge with Sub-Zero." She seems afraid that Sub-Zero is being challenged by someone like him. Hopefully she doesn't have to be like this any longer. From what she's said about him, it sounds as if he could handle Scorpion on his own. But seeing Scorpion fight makes everyone uneasy and terrified. He is a wraith bent on avenging the murder of his entire clan. His rage and hate is what makes him stronger. Who knows if he's even using his full power. After Sareena and I eat, Nina finally wakes up and eats. After that we decide to just relax and stay here in our room. Nina agrees with the idea with a girly kind of "Yes!". She does seem to enjoy relaxing, but she at least knows when to be serious.

I have several allies now who may grow into great friends. A force to fight for the greater good. Usually against a common enemy. Nothing can prepare the world for what may happen if we fail. Who knows if Earthrealm actually will be invaded by them. The only thing that worries me is you never know who's gonna make it out alive. Any one of us could die at this tournament alone. If this is difficult, none of us can handle what may lie in wait for us. I only wish that all of us could live through this what seems to be near impossible mission. We all know that not everybody will survive. This isn't a movie. It's not an adventure. Not a fairy tale to tell your kids at night. This is all real. Not everyone will survive. Hell we might all die. Nobody knows. Not even Raiden. No god could predict what will happen to us in the upcoming matches. We will all die protecting those we care about. For me, I only care about my current allies and those I make in the future. I don't care about my rich family. I care about my real family. Not really my mother since I haven't even met her. I doubt I will. Maybe I will even meet my sister. If I track down the Lin Kuei and get information from them, I might figure something out about her. Though it'll be very difficult to get information from them, from an event that occurred thousands of years ago. That'll be a pain. I can't think of that now. I have to focus on what may occur at this tournament.

Nina lays in her bed reading her book. Scrolling on her phone. We don't have much to do so we just stay in our room until it's time for the next match. After waiting around for several boring hours it's finally time for us to go out. Sareena is still worried that Sub-Zero may die to Scorpion. She has every reason to be in fear.  Though it takes a while for us to reach the area that we need to be in, at least we follow those who are in front of us to the area. Once we are inside the building we continue to follow our group. Through a giant door we see all of them waiting for the next match. Everyone is in their own little group except Baraka and Reptile. They stand in front of a throne. Sektor and his friend are discussing something. The door behind us closes loudly.

We decide to make our own little group until it is time for the next match. After a few minutes Scorpion arrives through the large doors alone. He looks for a moment then walks over to Sektor's group. I hear the other Lin Kuei say

"Your inferior clan is dead, soon you will join them."

"My clan...... may walk the earth once more." After Scorpion replies the same assassin pushes him right in front of Shang Tsung.

"A challenge! Scorpion versus Cyrax and Sektor!" The one who pushed Scorpion is called Cyrax.

"Your obsession with Sub-Zero ends here!"
