[15] Only Human - Stefan Salvatore

Imagine: In 1863 your father and Giuseppe Salvatore set you up with his son, Stefan, it would be good for connecting the two families. You and Stefan had an instant bond. Your father and Giuseppe had business to discuss so for the hours they were in the study, you and Stefan spent together, both enjoying each other's company.

"so how have you and Stefan been getting along?" Your father asked you as you and him were in the carriage on the way to the Salvatore house. "very will i think, i do like him, i think he's a very nice man" i said and he smiled at me. "i'm very glad to hear that" he said and i smiled softly, going back to gazing out the window. As the eldest of his children, he had always had a soft spot for me, and I for him. "here we are, i need to discuss some boring business talk with Giuseppe, then we shall have some lunch and see how the day plans out" he said and i nodded. He got out of the carriage and held his hand out for me to take, which i did and stepped down. Giuseppe came out to greet us and i smiled at him politely and bowed "now now dear, there is no need for that! you're quite the lady but please, feel comfortable in this house" he said and i smiled. He was always very happy to see me and very kind to me, but i had a weird feeling, as if it was not genuine. He made me feel a little uneasy. "Stefan is just tending to the horses in the stables" he said and i nodded, smiling at him and my father before turning to walk towards the stables. "Y/N, please be careful, your mother will be irritated if you get your dress muddy" my father said and i nodded smiling widely at him. "i will try my best father, but unfortunately horses have a terrible habit of dirtying my clothes" i said chuckling and walked off towards the stables. It was a fairly warm spring day and i saw Stefan busy carrying buckets of water from the water tap and to the troughs in the stable pens. "i'm positively certain you could pay somebody to do this" i said making my presence known. "oh, forgive me Y/N, i did not know you were here" Stefan said, wiping his hands on his shirt "You've got mud on your shirt now" i said and walked forward, seeing the mud smeared in his shirt. "this horse was especially muddy today" he said and chuckled as i smiled. "it's appears so" i said and stroked it's head. "you like horses?" he asked and i nodded. "i have one of my own back at home, but i'm not allowed to ride much anymore" i said softly. "how comes?" he asked "i help mother to look after my younger brother Thomas a lot, she seems to need to make more errands into town each week" i said, sighing. "well, we could always go out for a hack through the meadows" Stefan said and i looked up at him with wide eyes "really? i would so love that!" i said smiled happily. He chuckled and looked down before looking back up to me, meeting my eyes and maintaining it. "i will just double check with my father" i said softly and he nodded. I smiled before kissing him softly on the cheek. He smiled as i pulled away and walked back towards the house. I walked through the house and knocked meekly on the study door. "please come in" Giuseppe's voice said from behind the door. "i'm sorry for interrupting" i said as i stood at the doorway. "it's not an issues, especially when you're such a polite lady, so unlike my son" he said and i had to go along and smile with him. "Father, and Giuseppe of course considering this is your land, Stefan has suggested that we went on a hack out with the horses, i was going to ask your permission before hand to make sure that was ok with you" i said, looking between Giuseppe and my father who were sat in a rather comfortable looking chairs with a glass of some alcoholic beverage. "Well since you asked so nicely, i can't seem to say no, that is of course if it's alright with you" he said looked at Giuseppe. "of course! go have fun, you're such a kind young women! the more time you spend with my son the better" he saidand i smiled happily at them. "thank you both very much" i said smiling softly and father smiled at me. "as long as you're back within two hours, and of course don't injure yourself" he said and i smiled. "i'll take extra care, thank you once again and thank you Giuseppe for allowing this" i said and he chuckled. "that's quite alright" he said and i nodded before leaving the room, quickly making my way back to the stables where Stefan had gotten the two horses ready. "let our adventure begin" i said and he chuckled.

An hour later and we had stopped to take in the scenery. We were sat by a lake with a meadow behind us with blooming flowers where our horses grazed peacefully. We were chatting about a mixture of things from our childhoods too our future dreams. "i think that in a different world, i would love to be a doctor or nurse, id love to help the sick get better" I said and Stefan smiled at me "you're such a kind person, i think you've got what it take to be brilliant at whatever you do" he said and i chuckled "oh Stefan, you always say the nicest things" i said and chuckled softly as he smiled at me. "what do you want to be?" i asked him. "my brother Damon is currently fighting in the war, but myself didn't join him, father still recents me for that, but i'm not sure what i want to do, Father will probably just had me down the business" he said. "well that's a pretty small dream! think big Stefan" i said and he looked and thought. "i'd like to see more of the world, maybe visit Europe" he said and i chuckled. "i've always wanted to see what England is like" i said and he chuckled. "well maybe you can join me" he said and i looked at him, he was gazing into my eyes. I couldn't help but look into his amazingly green eyes, they were mesmerising. "Y/N, i think our fathers are trying to set us up" Stefan said softly and i smiled, lifting my hand to his cheek. "then let them" i said and kissed him softly. He smiled into the kiss and kissed me back, lifting his arm up and holding the side of my face softly. He started to push me down towards the ground and i chuckled. "Mr Salvatore! my dress will be muddy now" i said and chuckled "it was the horse" he muttered as he started kissing my neck. Things started to get a little bit more heated, starting to undo the buttons and strings on my corset. I don't know how i survive in this but it's going to be a nightmare getting it back on. Things escalated rather quickly from there on in.

An hour later and we were back at the Salvatore house. Stefan and I had just finished putting the horses away and began to walk up to the house when my mother and little brother Thomas came out the front door. "Y/N!" he said running up to me and i picked him up. "how was your day?" i asked him "fun! i went to see Charles!" he said and chuckled. I smiled down at him and he looked up at me. "what have you been doing?" he asked. "i went for a nice horse ride with Stefan" i said and he chuckled. "is that your boyfriend?" he whispered rather loudly and i chuckled. "i don't know Thomas, that depends on him" i said and he chuckled, hugged me and then i let him get down and he ran off to see dad. My mother waved to me briefly before following Thomas. "well your brother certainly loves you" Stefan said and i nodded, smiling. "yes, he's a very special part of my life and i love him too" i said and Stefan smiled at me. "so i was thinking about us" he said holding out his arm and we took a stroll around the garden. "what about us?" i asked smiling. "well i was thinking about how happy it would make me, if you were to become a very important piece of my happiness" he said and i chuckled. "and what do you mean by that?" i asked and he looked down at me "must i spell it out?" he asked and i chuckled, he was so adorable when i teased him. "you must!" i said and he shook his head. "Y/N, i would love it if you became my girlfriend" he said and i smiled deeply. "i would love it as well" i said and he chuckled, i kissed him on the cheek. "that is a very good answer" he said and i chuckled. "Y/N, We're going home now!" I heard my Father shout me. "thank you so much for today Stefan, i really enjoyed it!" i said and he chuckled. "when will i see you again?" he asked "soon, i promise" i said and he nodded, i kissed him gently on the lips before walking in the direction of our carriage.
