[34] Unworthy of a Goodbye - Stefan Salvatore

[Imagine: Stefan promising to go on a summer road trip with you after he dumped Silas's body. When he doesn't return that night, you think he pied you off and left without saying goodbye]

"i need to do this by myself" Stefan said to me as we were stood by his car. "you've already done enough" i said, placing my hand on his arm. "i'll be back as soon as possible, pack your bags because we're going away this summer" he said smiling at me. My smile grew across my face and i bubbled with excitement. "are you serious!?" i asked happily and he nodded. "i'm thinking New York, then maybe Boston, oh we can go and visit Salem" he said teasing and i chuckled. "you have yourself a deal Mr Salvatore" i said and he kissed me softly before getting into his car and driving off to dump Silas' body.

And that was the last time i saw Stefan Salvatore. As far as in concerned, he died that night. I did as he said, i packed my bag and dragged it to the porch where i waited. I waited all night long for him to come back but he didn't. So i rang him. at least 20 times. Each one going to voicemail. So i gave up, i spent the next two weeks crying on and off, feeling sorry for myself because i had been left by yet another person. I felt like i wasn't good enough, like there was some curse that prevented me from being happy for too long. I decided to visit New Orleans during the summer, planning on visiting my dear friend Rebekah, only to find out she was holidaying with Matt. I wasn't really shocked, the sexual chemistry between them had been building for months. I ended up staying with Klaus and Elijah which eventually took its toll and i shortly arrived back in Mystic Falls just to start moving to college with Elena and Caroline. We were meant to have Bonnie as well but apparently she was still travelling the globe with her mum which was sweet, especially because she kept sending me emails every week or two so i didn't feel completely abandoned by my boyfriend and my best friend. Well, i suppose he's my ex boyfriend now.

Me and Caroline we're walking down the hallway while she was on the phone to elena

"Please tell me I wasn't out of my mind leaving Damon in charge of Vampire Amnesia 101" Elena said through the phone. I was making my best to ignore the whole situation. There i was, packing a weekend bag to go back home and see Stefan when i'm told that he's lost all his memories. "What did he say exactly?" Caroline asked.
"One text – 'So far, so good' Which, in Damon speak..." Elena said "Means that they probably devoured a troop of Girls Scouts by now" Caroline said. "Caroline!" me and Elena said at the same time. "I'm kidding...kind of. Although it's not uncommon for patients with retrograde amnesia or other traumatic brain injuries to turn volatile" Caroline said and i rolled my eyes. "introducing, Dr. Forbes who's been studing up on my chem, biochem, applied microbio, molecular bio, and Grey's Anatomy—the real one and the television show, but mostly the tv show and it's been driving me insane!" i said and they laughed. "You did all that for Stefan?" Elena asked and a pang of guilt went through me as i hadn't made any effort to contact him. "Of course I did. I'm also trying to impress Dr. Maxfield. I figured if I could get closer to him, i.e. into his biology class, maybe I could figure out why he covered up our roommate's murder by vampire, and it's also possible that I have a study buddy" Caroline said as i trailed behind her as she entered Dr. Maxfield's lab. As i stood behind Caroline i saw Jesse and Dr Maxfield himself.

"Hi, Dr. Maxfield. Are you ready to go study, Jesse?" Caroline said, emphasising 'study'
"Jesse? Dr. Maxfield's incredibly hot, funny, and miraculously single lab assistant?" Elena said through speaker and i grabbed Caroline's phone. "she's dragging him to our hometown graveyard bell-ringing ceremony" I said chuckling "As in creepy first date?" Elena said and i smiled at Caroline as she answered defensively.
"As in a study date. While I'm there, I might as well ring a bell for Tyler and me considering our relationship is on its death bed" She said and i smiled at her softly.
"Will I see you there? You could bring Stefan. I mean, it is ironically called Remembrance Day" Caroline said to Elena. "I hope so, I really do. It just depends on how Stefan's handling the whole download of his dark and stormy past" Elena said. "Jesse's arrived so Caroline says goodbye and i will see you later Elena" i said and she gasped. "does this mean you're coming home!?" She said excited and i chuckled. "see you in a bit" i said and hung up, giving Caroline her phone back, greeting Jesse before promptly saying goodbye and walking back to my dorm to grab a weekend bag. I then began the long drive back to Mystic Falls.
