[17] Fight for You - Kai Parker

imagine: finding out that Bonnie planned to lock Kai away in the 1903 prison world.

I was walking through the forest with Damon and Elena in search for Damon's old house. It was snowing and i loved it, the crisp sound of snow crunching under our feet, the christmassy feel it gave me, i just wish Damon would have let me stay with Kai and Bonnie, but apparently they needed to work things out. The other night me and Kai had a moment, i was helping with some confused emotions of his and i genuinely think that he's changed for the better. Elena disapproved and was terrified of my safety and Damon tried to ignore it. We kissed for a while and i don't know why but i felt safe with him. He was never mean to me unless joking, in which we've got that kinda rude funny type of flirty thing going on. The way he held me, made me feel safe. Bonnie of course thought i was insane but then again i didn't go through the same things as she did. Do you see how me and Kai will cause problems? And last of all there's Stefan. Before Kai came into the equation, Me and Stefan were rather close indeed. Damon and Elena tried to set up double dates and tried to find excuses for us to spend time together which i think is why Damon's trying to ignore me and Kai. I loved Stefan, i always have done. But i'm not in love with him, i used to be for a while, but once i found out about Caroline's feelings for him, i backed off, for her. "you know you really shouldn't care about Caroline's feelings so much" Damon said and me and Elena looked at him oddly. "she's my best friend, why wouldn't i?" i asked "you and Stefan are sooooo much better suited!" He whined and i rolled my eyes. "I appreciate what you're doing for Caroline but you and Stefan have chemistry!" Elena said happily smiling at me. "me and Kai have chemistry" i said and they both stopped walking and looked at me. "Kai murdered his family?" Elena said "stefan killed his father, all be it a cruel one" i said and Damon sighed. "listen Y/N, Caroline and stefan wouldn't last long, she's lovely but not right for him, where as you are!" he said and i shook my head. "i'm not" i said and Elena sighed. "why not?" she asked, trying to comfort me. "i...i kissed Kai" i said and the both just stood there, not moving or speaking. They exchanged glances. "what?" Damon asked approaching me. "we were talking the other night and it just...happened" i said and Elena shook her head. "that's not possible! he's a sociopath and doesn't feel anything" she said and i shook my head. "he's changed Elena! I feel safe when i'm with him" i said and Damon laughed. "safe? he could cut your throat any second or set you on fire, or maybe even cut your spleen out. Jo style" Damon said and i rolled my eyes. "just give him a chance, please" i said and they exchanged glances. "alright" Damon said and began to walk off, myself and Elena trailing behind. Silence.

After persuading Lily to come with us, we all regrouped to go home. "where's kai?" i asked "he's just on his way, he said he needed to grab something" Bonnie said and i nodded cautiously. Bonnie began the spell and we all linked hands. "why are you starting the spell?" i asked Bonnie panicked. "so it's ready as soon as kai gets back" she said and i shook my head. She continued to chant until it started to get brighter. Then it clicked. "no no no! we need to wait for Kai!" i said and tried to disconnect but Elena and Damon grabbed me and held me back. "Guys!" i heard Kai's shout from behind me. I turned around and saw him, i saw the fear and hurt in his eyes. "kai!" i shouted and he smiled softly at me. "goodbye Y/N" he said barley audible. All of a sudden we were back int he Salvatore boarding house. "take me back" i said in a stern but quiet voice. "not a chance, that psychopath is staying there for the rest of his sad life" Bonnie said and i pinned her up against the wall by her neck. "YOU BRING HIM BACK!" i shouted at her and she used her magic to make my head hurt, forcing me to let go of her. I slumped towards the ground and she stopped. "i'll let myself out" Bonnie said and walked off. Tears were streaming down my face. Elena walked over to me and touched my shoulder. "you knew" i said and she nodded sadly. "i'm so sorry Y/N" she said and i wipes the tears from my eyes. "i could have helped him, the old Elena never would have given up on someone who showed potential. Let alone someone who makes her best friend happy" i said, standing up and walking out, up to my room where i grabbed a bag and put some clothes into it. 5 minutes later and i walked downstairs where Damon and Elena greeted me. "where are you going?" Damon asked, putting his bourbon down and zooming in front of me. "i'm going to pay Elijah a visit" i said and Damon shook his head. "just stay here, we can help you" he said and i just looked at him. "what are you going to do Damon? pair me up with your brother! there's nothing between us! he is better with Caroline. You just threw away my happiness, he had so much potential and you locked him away. If he ever gets out, you are all on his hit list! i hope he made you suffer, because you've just undone everything i worked on him with getting to be a better person. You, Damon Salvatore, are no friend of mine" i said before walking out, slamming the door behind me and jumping into my car to begin the trip down to New Orleans. Little did i know that inside, Damon had thrown multi things into the fire and destroyed tables and carpets. A tear rolling down his cheek. "it's going to be ok, she'll come round" Elena said, placing a hand on his cheek. "i just lost my best friend" he said and shook his head. "it's okay" Elena said and hugged him tightly as he silently cried onto her shoulder.

I was done with Mystic Falls for a while.
