Chapter 12

Alex pov
  Scott's house was shot at by hunters. His mom, his dad, Mason, and Lydia all got hit. His dad got transferred to San Francisco Memorial.
  Scott told us we needed an army, so him and Malia attempted to contact people. My pack and I are just improving our fighting and weapons skills.
  While we're training, Liam calls me. Telling me Gabe gave them some information. He ask me to meet him and Theo, so I did.
  I met them and Gabe was there. He showed us bodies that had their eyes and mouths hollowed out. They were stuffed in a freezer.
  "Does the teacher know about this?" Theo asked.
  Gabe points to one of the bodies. "That's the teacher."
  "Unless there's a gun in there too, this isn't helping us find the shooter," Liam said.
  "Why'd you hide these bodies?" Theo questioned.
  "We didn't wanna get caught," Gabe answered.
  "Caught doing what?" I pressed.
  "Testing them. To see if they were werewolves," Gabe's says, as if it was obvious. "And they were."
  "Just like you tested Corey," Liam hissed.
  Gabe shakes his head. "But we didn't kill them. Look at their faces. Something else did that."
  "The Anuk-ite," Theo mutters.
  "The what?" Gabe asks.
  "Basically my little brother, likes causing chaos. Feeds on fear," I tell him shrugging.
  "Why would it wanna kill anyone?" Liam asks. "It feeds off fear. Dead people aren't afraid."
  "Maybe the killing is just a byproduct. What if these bodies aren't it looking for fear, I also don't appreciate us referring to me as a thing, I am not a thing," I contribute.
  "Can't you take anything seriously?" I  scoff and shake my head no. Theo turns back to Liam. "What if it's looking for it's other half?" Theo asks. "Which means it's looking for supernatural creatures. Someone like us."
  I summon a book about the Anuk-ite, Gabe looks suprised. "You're right." I stop on a page in the book. "To find it's other half the Anuk-ite infects the person they think it is with spiders. If the person isn't the other half, it's lethal." The book dissipates.
  "So these two could've been werewolves, just not the ones the Anuk-ite we're looking for," Liam concludes.
  Theo turns to Gabe. "Which means you've been helping it." He closes the freezer. "Idiot."
  "I don't even know what you guys are talking about," Gabe says as he takes a small step back. "I was just helping Aaron. It was his idea to test everyone."
  "Who's Aaron?" Theo asks.
  "A freshman," I answer.
  "He's a player on the lacrosse team," Liam finishes. He thinks for a moment. "Aaron didn't wanna find more of us, he wanted to find his other half."
  "He's the Anuk-ite," Theo concludes.
  Gabe leaves and Liam calls Scott and Malia. The two arrive and we show them the freezer.
  They close it. "It's a bad day for finding bodies," Malia fretted.
  "There are gonna be a lot more if we don't find Aaron's other half," Liam pointed out.
  "Which we know nothing about," Theo added.
  "Well we do know one thing. We know it's a werewolf," Scott countered.
  "We need to find this other werewolf right now," Liam urged.
  "Preferable before they merged," Theo says.
  "What happens if they merge?" Malia asks.
  "Probably nothing good," I guessed.
  "Any chance you happened to gather that army Scott?" Liam questions.
  "You're lookin at it," Malia confessed.
  "I could help train you guys, with weapons too," I offer. They stared at me. "I know how to defend myself, since many people have tried to kill me before. Although they obviously fail."
  A new voice enters the room. "Let's hope this thing doesn't feed off desperation," we turn to the voice, it's a man covered in soot holding a steering wheel, "cause this room reeks of it."
  "What happened?" Scott asks him.
  The man holds up the charred steering wheel. "Hunters." He lowers his arm. "Destroyed my perfect automobile." He breaths deeply. "So if this thing had anything to do with it, I'd like to see its demise is appropriately painful." He sets the steering wheel down.
  "I thought you had two cars," Malia asks.  The man drops a horn. Liam whispers his name in my ear, Peter.
  "There's going to be hell on earth," Peter declares.
