A few days ago, I said I was going to put this book on a temporary hold because someone disrespected me and my friend. For those of you who felt this was 'unfair', understand that I do not tolerate disrespect and that what I said was going to do should be nothing new. It says it in the first chapter, I KNOW you all can read. Don't come to me saying shit like "Just because it's one person, doesn't mean we all get punished. That's unfair." If you think that's unfair, then what would you say if I deleted the book (which I'm not)? BTW, it was NOT just 1 person. I can name who the others are (and they know who they are), but I'm not going to do that.

Oh, and NEVER insult an author who's book you're reading FOR FREE! It pisses them off and doesn't really encourage them to write for ungrateful people. Let's be honest, THEY ARE writing the book on their free will, for YOUR entertainment.

Therefore, DON'T... test my tolerance. I do keep my promises.

Chapter 26: Revenge and Pettiness

Shadé

I was mad. I knew how my body gets when I'm mad. I start shaking, vigorously, and my hands begin to itch for something to punch.

After what Netty told me, about the cruelty she went through when working as the family's chef, I knew I was going to be the cause of something.

Yeah, I lied to Vincent. I did. But how else was I suppose to get to Buckingham? He wouldn't have allowed me to go if I didn't tell him that his mother personally invited me.

When she sat beside me during the funeral, we hadn't spoken a single word to one another. In fact, she didn't even look in my direction, unless it required her to look at the altar of the Abbey.

But I was surprised that she sat beside me. Vincent and I didn't speak about it because we were just as shock as the other. Unlike me, Vincent believes that she sat next to me to tell me that she wanted to talk to me at lunch. I, on the other hand, was still dumbstruck by the fact she sat beside me with no complaint the entire time.

We arrived at the palace a few minutes before everyone else. We stepped out of the car just as the other Rolls Royces and Daimlers pulled up. My hateful gaze habitually followed Melanie as she stepped out of her vehicle. She frowned at me as her eyes rolled momentarily.

"Vincent, you changed your mind," Rodney's question forced me to snap my eyes away from his bimbo of a wife.

As he distracted Vincent, I took this chance to approach our chauffeur. "Could you stay out here for a little while, please," I ask him kindly. He nods with a smile as his response.

"Unfortunately, yes I have. Mother wants to talk to Shadé," he replies monotonously. I know he didn't want to be here, but I had some built up tension that I needed to release.

"Mother? Shadé? That's interesting," he said thoughtfully.

I briefly frown, hoping he didn't feel that it was out of the ordinary.

"Good afternoon, Folashadé," Rodney greets me as he held Elliot securely in his arms.

I smile as my eyes quickly dart toward Melanie. She wasn't holding her son this time.

"Hi, Rodney," I reply. "Hi, little Elliot," I went on as I waved at the adorable child in his arms.

"Hai," Elliot shyly replies as he held his index finger in his mouth.

"Caine, Valencia, say 'hi' to your cousin, Eli," I said gently.

"Hai," they wave uncoordinatedly.

"Lance isn't coming," I heard Vincent comment as he took a hold of the stroller.

"He and Aunt Netty went back to Windsor," Rodney informs.
