Okay, so the only reason I had writer's block is because I had this chapter already planned out... literally. Like I wasn't even thinking about Chapter 29
^///^ I'm so eager for you guys to read this chapter that I'm updating today rather than tomorrow (I couldn't wait that long)But believe me, you'll enjoy this chapter just as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Chapter 30: Recherché
Vincent
There was a good reason I made sure the castle was closed to the public today. Witnessing the possible horror of what could happen today would be rather embarrassing on my part as well as Shadé's.
"Come on, you're going to learn today," I forced her as I dragged her outside by her arm.
"I can't. Remember the last time we did this," she moaned as she tried to pull me back with her weight.
I stopped and yanked her toward me, stopping her just in time from colliding her face with my chest. She gasped from the shock of it before smacking me on my arm.
"Don't do that again, you could've broken my nose," she scowled as she pushed past me.
"I'm sorry, okay. Come on," I called after her as she continued stomping toward the car. I looked back at Frank and Aimee along with their daughter and the twins. Aimee gave me a questioning look, as if she was asking 'what happened?'
I shrugged my shoulders in response and continued back to the black BMW. I hopped into the passenger seat and buckled my seatbelt. I knew I was going to need it.
"Okay, Shadé, what's the first thing you do," I asked, just to test her intelligence.
"Um... start the car," she said, more like questioned.
"No."
"Position your feet on the break and the gas," she asked again.
I sighed. "No. You put on your seatbelt," I said, giving up on that question.
She briefly pouted before wrapping her seatbelt around her torso. "Now I start the car?"
"Mhm," I nodded.
I watched her stick the key into the ignition. Oddly I had a different kind of take on how that looked in my head. I closed my eyes and sighed.
"What's wrong," she asked, alarmed. "I'm doing it wrong, huh?"
"No, no. It's nothing, I'm just cold," I replied, digging my hands into my coat pockets. I looked at her to see that she was staring at me with her brows slightly creased. "I know I'm somewhat good-looking, but you need to start the car, Shadé," I said, laughing at her as she shook her head to get herself out of her dazed state.
"You're not all that," she retorted as she started the car.
For some reason, that kind of hurt. I felt like I really wasn't all that, because if I was she'd have my engagement ring on her finger by now. I stuck my hand into my jeans pocket and fiddled with the material of the small box. I know it's weird, I'm a weird man, but I always carried it around with me because I wasn't sure when she'd be ready, so I wanted to always be prepared.
I looked to my left out the window. It was snowy, but it wasn't to an extent where we couldn't see, maybe that had something to do with it being eight in the morning. "Okay, now what do you do next," I asked, without looking at her.
"Acceler--"
"No, adjust your mirrors. Make sure their positioned to where you can clearly see what's begin you," I explained. I knew she was doing as I said, but I still wasn't looking at her.
