September 3rd

My alarm went off and woke me up with a start. My hair was all over the place as I sat upright, both giddy and already frustrated. Today is the first day of my senior year (I'm supposed to be a junior but I was smart so they moved me up) and I'm not really excited but I'm also really excited because it's the first day of my last year of school.

I got up and went to the bathroom, brushing my teeth and beginning to straighten out my hair. It took almost an hour, and I burned myself twice, but I got it done. Shortly after I finished that, I got a FaceTime call from Lianna, who was freaking out.

"I can't find them! WHERE DID I PUT MY CHICKEN FILLETS!?" She panicked the moment I answered, setting my phone down on the counter.

"I think you put them in your underwear drawer last night Li," I answered, getting started on simple makeup. Disgruntled, Lianna thanked me when she pulled them out, putting them in her sports bra. I just laughed and continued putting on eyeliner, winging it easily. Fiona then called me and I put us in a group call, making my way to my bedroom to change into my outfit. I helped both of them pick out what to wear (I swear if it weren't for me, those two would both be disasters), and changed into my favorite black ripped skinny jeans and a floral blouse. Lianna ended up in a pink sundress with pastel yellow flats and Fiona decided on black skinny jeans, black tank top, and a black lace top, of course with black combat boots.

We agreed to meet up at the front door and compare schedules before hanging up and getting ready for our first day. I went to the kitchen and saw my breakfast ready, a plate of scrambled eggs and toast with a cup of coffee.

"Thanks, Dad or Papa, whoever made breakfast!" I called out, sitting down and beginning to eat.

"Teamwork you're welcome!" Both of them called back from the filming room, bursting out laughing after. I ate my breakfast in silence, just flicking through my phone and social media casually. Ever since I made the baking video with Cameron, our subscriber count skyrocketed. Everyone seems to love the two of us together (of course they like everything we make though).

Just after I finished breakfast and cleaned up, I heard a knock on the door. "Who is it?" I call, drying my hands on a towel.

"Your favorite boy who has an iced coffee with extra sugar and a hazelnut shot in his hands!" I hear call back. Recognizing the voice, I skip over to the door and open it, grinning at the red-headed boy in front of me.

"What are you doing here Babe?" I smile, taking the coffee out of his hands, letting him in. "You remember I have school now right?"

"Yeah, I know." His lips press against my forehead. "I wanted to drive you if you want me to of course." He bit his lip and wrapped his arms around me, taking the coffee out of my hands and setting it on the table. I just nod and curl into his embrace, sighing at the warmth. "We should probably get going, you don't want to be late on your first day."

Cameron kicked down the stand and let the motorcycle lean before the two of us got off. He took my helmet off gently and got my bag out of the storage compartment before putting the helmet in and shutting it. I took a sip of my drink while I looked around, internally groaning at the start of another year of my own personal hell. Soft lips met my cheek and brought me out of my deep thought trance. I looked up to the cute green-eyed, shaggy red-haired boy I was falling for. Our lips connected in a sweet kiss, bringing me comfort and propelling me with energy for the whole day. His teeth gently bit my lip and tugged as we pulled apart, letting my lip snap back. Our foreheads rested against each other, eyes looking at each other.

"Have a great first day, Butterscotch," Cam says quietly, his hand holding my waist. I nod and bring my arms around his neck. "I have classes early this afternoon so I can pick you up if you don't mind me being a little late, about a half hour after you get out?"

"That's fine with me." I can hear my friends calling me in the background. "Bye." I peck his lips and walk away, towards my besties.

"Okay, so I've got English 1, Child Development 2, Free 3, Financial Lit 4, Free 5, Ceramics 6, Pre-Calc 7, and Printmaking 8." Lianna groans, listing off her schedule for this first semester.

"I have Free 1 for my online, Environmental Science for 2, English 3, Calculus 4, Free 5, Free 6, Creative Writing 7, and Printmaking with Li 8." I high five her, thankful that we have at least one class together. Fiona ended up with English and Ceramics with Li, and Calculus and Creative Writing with me.

"This is great, we all have at least a couple classes with each other. Senior year is going to be great." Fiona said, the two of us nodding in agreement. "And it looks especially good for you two since you both have your marks. I'm turning 18 soon, and I still don't have mine." She sighed.

"Hey, just remember, Papa was 20 when they started with Dad. It will happen, you just need to wait. Good things come to those who wait." I wrap my arm around her, trying to comfort my friend. She took a sip of my coffee and smiled weakly.

"You're right. I don't need a soulmate to make me happy anyways, I have the two of you. And that's all I really need." We all giggle and hold hands, making our way into the school building for the first day of our last year of high school. After this, college here we come!"
