August 16th

I sat in the grocery cart as the two of us went around the grocery store, looking for the proper ingredients to bake some chocolate chip cookies. Cameron ran up and down the aisles as I pointed out the ingredients from a list on my phone. Flour, sugar, eggs, milk, chocolate chips (the most important ingredient if you ask me), butter, and of course some other things. We decided to snag rainbow sprinkles to toss into the cookies as well to make them more colorful.

Not once, not twice, but three times did we get yelled at about running around and having me in the cart, but we didn't really care; we were two teenagers having fun.

Eventually, we grabbed everything we needed and checked out, Cameron insisting on paying. While I thought that was gentlemanly, I distracted him and quickly swiped my credit card when he wasn't looking, insisting that I could pay for the groceries without his help.

"Fine but I'm paying next time." Cameron rolled his eyes, putting all the food into bags, while I finished paying. I giggled and grabbed a bag, heading to his mom's car (we borrowed it for the afternoon) to put everything away and head back to his home.

Luckily for me, Jillian seemed to pick up on the fact that Millie wasn't my biggest supporter, and took her out on a date today to keep the two of us apart. Hopefully, she eventually warms up to me, considering I'm going to be her daughter-in-law

We loaded the car and both got in, me in the passenger seat with Cameron in the driver's seat. I kicked my feet up on the dashboard and hooked my phone up to the aux cord, turning on a good playlist for the two of us to jam to while we went back. We both sang along obnoxiously with the windows down as we drove, volume high as we played hit after hit.

When we got to his house, I noticed that their other car was still in the driveway. His moms haven't left yet for their date, which means I, unfortunately, have to deal with Millie. The two of us got out and grabbed the groceries, heading inside. I slipped off my flats and tucked them in the corner of the mudroom, carrying in a bag. Millie was in the kitchen washing some dishes, and Jillian was nowhere to be seen. I set the bag down on the table and walked into the kitchen silently, grabbing a towel and beginning to dry the dishes she finished washing. The two of us stayed like that for a few minutes. She washed, I dried. Cameron went into his room when he saw the two of us, obviously not wanting to say anything to ruin the minuscule amount of bonding the two of us were doing.

"Why do you not like me?" I asked quietly, drying the last dish. "Have I done anything to offend you?"

"No, that's not it at all." She responded briskly. "And it's not that I don't like you, it's just hard for me to wrap my mind around this. You're so young to be getting your marks, and you're two years younger than my son. I know you two are meant to be, and you're a sweet girl, but I'm just worried about if you two get in a fight. You're both so young, and he's a hot head, I just don't know if the two of you can reconcile after a fight if something happens. I just want to protect my son. But I've never hated you Italy."

"Thank you, Ms. Thorn." I nod, understanding all of her reasoning. She seemed so cold to me at first, but she just wanted the best for her son.

The camera was set up and we had done our introductions (Cameron was nervous because it was his first experience with being filmed) and we had begun baking. Everything started off okay but quickly turned messy. It started with Cameron accidentally spilling flour over the counter and onto my pants. In retaliation, I "accidentally" got baking soda onto his black shirt when I was pouring it into the bowl. Before Cameron got the chance to grab the eggs, I grabbed them and slipped them into my back pockets, knowing Cam wouldn't touch me there without my permission. He grabbed the spatula and gently hit me on top of my head with it, a childish grin on his face.

"Oh, that's how you want to play?" I snicker, grabbing one of the eggs from my pocket.

"No no no Italy put that down." Cameron backed away from me, hands up in mercy. Turning the egg slowly in my hand, I contemplated what to do. In a split second decision, I threw it at Cameron, the egg hitting the top of his head perfectly and cracking, yolk dripping down his face. His eyes grew wide as I giggled, expertly cracking the other egg into the half-done mixture we had attempted to make. I grabbed another egg from the dozen we bought and put it in as well, making up for the one that I had wasted in our food fight. I looked around for Cam, who had gone mysteriously silent in the last thirty seconds, but he wasn't where he had just been.

"Ca- AHHHH WHAT THE BLOODY HELL?! (these are called Interabangs and I love them)" I was suddenly doused in a cloud of white powder - most likely flour - as I began speaking, coming from above. I looked up and there were Cameron's hands, powder still slowly falling on my face. Turning around, I saw my soulmate with a childish grin, his green eyes lit up happily as if he was a kid in a candy store. I pecked his lips, giggling.

"We should probably get clean and actually finish the cookies," I whisper to him.

"You go first, I'll get you some clothes to borrow," Cameron responds, locking his lips back with mine for a moment. Every time we kissed, I felt at home. He was the ultimate comfort for me. I hope this feeling lasts forever.

Teaser: Italy's first day of Senior year

Okay, I'm slightly considering going back and changing Italy's description to match Peyton List, since she's the girlfriend of the guy who plays Cameron (Cameron Monaghan). But I'm not sure if people would get mad at me for changing that to a white couple instead of a mixed-race couple. Thoughts?
