Chapter 1

        I wake up to a dry taste in my mouth. I get up and walk towards my fridge, and grab a glass of water. After quenching my thirst, I heard a knock at my door. "Who is it?" I asked. "It's dad." My dad said through the door. I looked down and noticed I was a mess. Wearing only a long shirt that just covered my butt. "May I come in?" He asked. "Hold on one sec please dad." I said throwing on a pair of pants. After they were on, I said "Come in!" As my dad walked in, I noticed he was already ready. As usual. "Krissky?" He asked. "Yea dad?" I asked. "It's initiation day..." He said looking at me. "I know..." I said looking at the ground. He wanted me to say what he didn't want to say, that today was the first day I was gonna be like him, an instructor. "Are you excited to see your new initiates?" He asked carefully, examining me. "Well if feeling like your gonna puke is excitement, then yes..." I say sarcastically. "If I were you, I would start getting ready because they are on their way..." He said walking out my door, but before he left he said "Be brave my Krissky." and with that he left. 

        I threw on my black tanktop, my black heart printed shirt, black jeggings, my black running jacket that smelt like mom, some quick makeup (a luxury), shoes, my nerd glasses, and sprinted out the door, towards the hole where the initiates drop. I hear voices and look up to see that I arrived just on time, and stand with my arms crossed over my chest. Then I heard a yelp and saw an Erudite girl lay on the net. I helped her off and asked "What is your name?" She gave me a dumbfounded look and said "Ummmm... uhhh" I looked at her right in the eyes and said "You can change your name if you want, but just remember you don't get to change it again." She looked at me with the straighest face and said "Cleo." I then turned around and looked at my fellow initiates. "Cleo, first jumper." Everyone then yelled and all I could hear were the screams of triumph. Then I saw him, laying on the net, dressed in Abnegation clothes. I helped him off and he stoped and looked into my eyes and said "Hi I umm..." and I said "What is your name?" He said "Can I change it?" And I said "Yes." "Alex." He said. I did the same thing that I did for Cleo but only changed the number of what jumper he was. Everyone else was just a blur. My thoughts ventured around my mind. I thought to myself "What did I get myself into?"
