Chapter 2

        As I grabbed a tray full of food and a slice of chocolate cake, I sit down at my usual table with my dad, the other leaders, and my one friend, Ashley. "So are you ready 5? For your new Initiates and training?" My dad asked me. I forgot that we were pretending to not be related for safety reasons. "I'm ready as I will ever be..." I say with no emotion. "Okay...be brave." He whispers and looks down at his tray. I leave my chocolate cake for last and as I pick it up, I look over to see Alex and a kid named Chris walk over to the other side of the table. Alex looks over to stare straight into my eyes and Chris taps him on the shoulder and I look away before he sits down next to his friend. I finish my cake before getting up and leaving the room. I wait by the edge of the doorway and stare at the rail where my dad was now standing. "ATTENTION INITIATES! Dauntless born are with me and transferred are with 5." He says and our eyes meet. "5 is standing by the hallway you just came in Initiates, so start walking over to her for a grand tour of the place." He turns around and chaos errupts with Initiates finding where they need to go. As soon as all of my transferred initiates were standing infront of me, I decided to speak. "Shall we get started?" I turned around and started down the hallway. 

        We walked until we got to the pit. Then I turned around, almost causing Cleo to bump into me. "This is the pit," I explained. "This is the place at heart here in dauntless." I say with no emotion. The initiates took a long look down to the pit to see a ton of dauntless fighting and training. "Are we gonna do that?" A guy named Riley asked "Yes if you don't die trying..." I say with a smirk on my face. Riley stepped back a step and said "What?" and I just turned around and led them to their rooms without saying a word. As I walked I could faintly hear whispers and rumors getting thrown back and forth between each of the initiates. I noticed Alex was the only one not talking. I shook my head and kept walking until I got to the door that I knew was the initiates rooms. I pushed it open and said "This is gonna be your rooms during training." "For boys or girls." Cleo asked "Both." My dad said while walking in. "Yes, both." I say while looking at the ground. I can tell that Alex was doing the same but was looking at me. Just then I feel a hand on my back and hear my dad say "I want everyone to get a goodnights sleep because tomorrow you start training." Everyone stares at him like he is crazy. "NOW!" He screamed. Everyone jumped when he screamed including myself. I have only heard him scream a couple of times. As soon as everyone started moving, my dad pushed my back out the door and as soon as we got out of the rooms he said "We need to talk..." I looked at him. "What about?" I asked "Don't let me distract you from your training... you froze when I walked in. You need to be more focused." I looked up at him when he said this "What do you mean you answered before i could even open my mouth..." I said trying to stay calm. "I'm not talking about just now, i'm talking about all of the time. and plus I said it because I was checking up on you and I came in at the right time." He said while winking. "Ok I will try d-." Before I finished my sentence he glared at me "I mean Tobias." He then patted my shoulder and then whispered in my ear. "That's my girl." Before he could walk away, I said "Be nice to my initiates i'm already the mean one." I then winked and walked to my apartment hidden in the chasm before he could say anything else.
