Chapter 23: Heroes Need a Break

It was all the both of them ever wanted. As soon as the two woke up from their sweet slumber, they got dressed up, and went back to the human realm.

"Wait. Let's not go back yet to the Boar Hat." stopped Elizabeth, and looked at Meliodas sincerly.

"Well, where do you want to go?" He smiled, never letting her hand go.

"Let's go to the Capital of the Dead."

"Sure, who'd you want to visit?"

"Let's... Let's just go." She insisted, and they both travelled across south.  An hour passed by and soon they were at the field of flowers. Elizabeth calmed her mind, while Meliodas stood back.

"Love, what are you doing there?"

"I'm not going to be travelled since you're the only one with memories of a someone's death."

"Not even a relative?"

"Nope.

"How bout a family member?"

"Esta? I don't want to visit him yet."

"But maybe the other should."

"Who?"

They both paused, Meliodas was of course confused at first. But little by little he realized what Elizabeth is trying to say. Zeldris. His sacrifice will never be forgotten by Elizabeth. A sacrifice she knows for his brother. The gust of wind soon reached Meliodas and they were both on the capital of the dead.

"Yo, brother." a voice said. A figure like Meliodas approached us, holding someone's hand.

"Zel...dris. Brother, I'm sorry I-"

"It's alright. I owe you, didn't I? When you never told someone that I loved a human, you hid it with all your life. And for that, I thank you."

"You dumbass... I'm such a fool. I feel bad."

"We both are." Zeldris chuckled, Elizabeth had meet eyes with the girl standing beside him.

"This must be Gelda." Eli smiled softly, waving at her.

"Hello, so we meet personally. I've always wanted to meet you. Thank you for giving me Zeldris, his sacrifice is worth dying for. I could never thank you enough."

"No! That's okay, now we're even." said Eli, the both of them exchanging warm smiles.

"Wait- what sacrifice?" asked Meliodas who was utterly confuse. Of course he didn't know about Zeldris being inside the celestial realm, for taking Meliodas's appearance.

"I asked help from Merlin for the potion she all gave you. I asked for a potion of your appearance, but to make that you have to give a piece of that person so I remember back at the demon realm I took a strand of your hair.

I went undercover and they did really thought it was you, even the Supreme Deity. They imprisoned me, then it took to the point where they executed me. And that's where your lover began carrying me to who knows where and buried my body right beside Gelda's grave."
