Baby Natsu

Harvest Festival

It was that time of year again the Fairy Tail guild's very own Harvest Festival. The streets of Magnolia were even more livelier than ever and thanks to the child's constant service to the Kingdom Of Fiore the guild received funding for an even bigger festival this year.
Within the busy streets of the Magnolia our main trio Lucy, Happy, and Natsu were sitting on a bench. Lucy was busy trying to plan out an itinerary for the day so they could all have time to experience everything the festival has to offer but of course with Natsu's constant impatience and energy it made it hard for Lucy to think.
"Mama mama mama!!!"
Natsu shouted as he tugged on Lucy's shirt.
"I know Natsu, we'll go on some of the rides soon, let me just plan out the day."
Lucy said as she finished coming up with a decent plan for the day.
"Why do we even need a schedule for Lucy, why can't we just get on whatever looks fun?"
Happy asked the blond mage.
"Well we still need to be on the parade float later today or Master will be pretty mad. So yes an itinerary is needed we just need to wait for everyone else to show up."
Lucy said as she was on the lookout for her friends, as she was looking she saw Grey walking up to their location.
"Hey Grey over here!"
Lucy shouted as she waved her hands at the Ice mage , grabbing his attention.
"Daddy!"
Natsu ran up to his proclaimed father figure.
"Hey you three you ready?"
Grey asked the group only to be met with a look of confusion from Lucy.
"Where's everyone else I thought they were coming too?"
Lucy asked the Ice make mage.
"Yeah about that."
Grey sighed as he started rubbing the back of his head.
"Erza is helping set up the float, Wendy is working in the sick area, and everyone else is helping out with the parade set up."
Grey explained to Lucy.
"Aww, I wanted to spend the day with Carla."
Happy complained a little disheartened.
"I didn't want to leave you guys out waiting by yourselves so I figured I hang with you three, figured it'll give me something to do.
Said Grey
"Daddy daddy!!"
Natsu continued to jump up at the man.
Grey sighed as he placed his hand on top of Natsu's head causing the boy to stop his hopping.
"Natsu, stop calling me that."
"I guess I didn't need to make a schedule after all."
Lucy said as she begrudgingly tossed the paper she had written on in the trash.
"Ouch, well in that case where do you want to go first?"
Grey asked Lucy.
"Let's see, I think that ferris wheel would be nice to start off with since there isn't too much motion for Natsu."
"Does he still get motion sick when he's this young I figured he would have forgotten he hated mobile transportation."
Grey looked to Lucy for an answer but she didn't seem to know either.
"I'm not sure either.....but he should be fine. These kinds of rides don't move too much since they're only used for viewing places rather than an actual ride."
Lucy said to Grey.
The Ice make mage merely shrugged as he went to the ride and he handed the ride attendant a ticket with the Fairy tail guild mark on it.
"I see you guys are guild members you get to go on for free then."
Said the attendant as he opened the door to one of the pods.
"Thanks."
Lucy said as she boarded the pod with Natsu and Happy.
"Okay make sure everyone sits down while the ride is in motion.
Said the attendant as he activated the ride.
The wheel started spinning and it soon elevated the pod Lucy and co were into its peak height.
"This is fun. I don't think I've ever seen Magnolia from this high up before, it's pretty even in the daytime."
Lucy said as she peered over the pod.
"Mama mama wook wook!!"
Natsu tugged on Lucy's shirt as he was pointing at something.
"Yes Natsu?"
Lucy turned to the boy.
"Id house mama house!"
Natsu said as he pointed to a random house.
"No Natsu, that isn't our house, we live in another district."
Lucy said to the boy.
"Oh... dat Mama house?"
Natsu said as he pointed to another random house.
Lucy started laughing at Natsu's naivety.
"No sweetie that isn't our house either."
Grey smirked.
" Natsu has never been the brightest person Lucy."
Grey said to the blond.
"He's only a baby. I wouldn't expect him to be the smartest guy out there."
Lucy said to Grey.
"Please, he was this dumb before being turned into an actual baby."
Grey said, earning a nod from happy.
"I love Natsu but Grey isn't lying, Natsu is pretty dumb."
Happy chided in.
" Nu uh appy toopid!"
Natsu shouted.
"I know you are but what am I."
Happy retorted.
"Mama, Appy mean!"
Natsu pouted.
"Happy be nice to Natsu and apologize."
Lucy said to the exceed.
"Fine.... I'm sorry."
Happy said as he pouted.
"You're pretty much full time Mom mode now."
Grey said to the celestial mage.
"Taking care of kids does that to you, especially with a kid like Natsu."
The ferris wheel started slowly again but when it moved this time Natsu felt strange.
"M m Mama."
Natsu called for Lucy as he tugged on her shirt.
"What is it Natsu?"
Lucy asked as she turned to the boy to see who was looking pale.
"Tummy."
Said the sickly toddler
"Your tummy?Oh no."
Lucy palmed her forehead.
"What?"
Grey asked.
" I forgot Natsu still has motion sickness."
Lucy sighed as she kneeled down to comfort the nauseous child.
"Motion sick here? We're hardly moving, he's fine."
Grey said but as he said that Natsu threw up on Grey's shoes.
"AH! NATSU!!"
Grey shouted.
"Oh no Natsu!"
Lucy said as she backed away from Grey and the puke covered toddler.
"Mama tummy huwt."
Natsu said right before he puked on Grey again.
"Really again!!!"
Grey said as he was trying hard to not puke himself."
" Oh God it's everywhere!"
Happy shouted as he hid behind Lucy.
(A Few Moments Later)
Lucy had rushed Natsu off to the nearest bathroom to clean him up.
"Well there's no use in saving these."
Lucy said as she threw out his puke covered outfit.
"I never seen him throw up like that before."
Happy said as he was holding Natsu above one of the toilets in case he started puking again.
"I guess his younger body can't handle the nausea like he did when he was older."
Lucy said as she pulled out a new outfit for the boy.
"Hey Natsu how do you feel?"
Lucy turned to the boy who was oddly smiling.
"Me ged wide gan Mama."
Natsu said to Lucy.
"You actually want to ride again?"
Lucy asked the boy, earning a uncharacteristically vigorous nod from Natsu.
"He actually wants to get on a ride
Happy was shocked.
After getting the boy cleaned up and put into a new change of clothes, Lucy walked out the bathroom to see Gray waiting on a bench.
"Hey Gray sorry about Natsu's....mess."
Lucy said to her guild mate.
"It's fine it was easy to clean off, how's Natsu?"
Gray looked over to the toddler.
" Oddly enough he's fine, he actually wants to go on another ride."
Lucy explained to Gray
"Me wan wide gan! Me wan wide gan!!"
Natsu shouted.
"Natsu I don't think that's a good idea, you'll get sick again."
Lucy explained to the boy causing him to turn to Gray for approval.
"You heard Lucy, no rides Natsu you'd just get sick again."
Gray said to the boy.
"Bud bud dat nod fa."
Natsu hunched over.
" He looks so sad, I wish there was something we can do for him."
Happy said as flew down to Natsu in hopes to cheer him up.
"Hmmm, wait! Doesn't Wendy know a spell that fixes Natsu's motion sickness."
Lucy exclaimed.
"She does, I remember she used it on Natsu when we were on that boat ride back home."
Happy chided in.
" If she uses it on Natsu then he can enjoy the rides without getting sick."
Lucy said as she pulled out her lacrima phone.
"Hey Wendy it's Lucy... I'm good but I need a favor....yeah I can meet you there...okay bye."
Lucy hung up her phone and she turned to the three guys.
"Alright follow me Wendy and Carla are helping setup the float
Lucy started leading the group around until they found the Fairy Tail float still being worked on.
"Carla!"
Happy quickly flew to the female exceed.
"Hi Carla you look nice today."
Happy said.
Carla merely sighed at Happy's advances.
"Evening Tomcat, I can still see you're as much of a ruffian as ever."
Carla said with her usual posh tone of voice.
"Hey guys!"
Wendy turned to greet Lucy and company.
" Heya Wendy how's the float coming along."
Lucy asked the young dragon slayer.
" Great, I'm just drying the adhesive so it can be ready for the parade."
" That's actually really smart, good thinking Wendy."
Gray commented.
Wendy started blushing.
" It's nothing, really."
Natsu looked up at Wendy with a curious expression.
"Aww, look at you Natsu!"
Wendy bent to Natsu's level.
" You're super adorable, I guess I'm the youngest dragon slayer anymore."
" Dwago."
Natsu said as he pointed to Wendy.
" That's right Natsu she's a dragon slayer, just like you."
Lucy rubbed the boy's head.
" So what was that favor you needed Lucy?"
Wendy asked the blond
" Yes yes and make it quick Wendy and I have a busy day ahead of us today."
Carla said.
"Kitty kitty!"
Natsu started reaching to Carla but the female cat was staying out of reach of the grabby hands of the pink haired toddler.
"Seriously child you need to learn about personal boundaries."
Carla said as her words fell upon deaf ears.
"Natsu if she doesn't want to be bothered then leave her alone."
Lucy said to the boy.
" B bud wan pway wi kitty."
Natsu pleaded.
"Natsu, listen to Lucy."
Gray chimed in.
Natsu merely puffed his cheeks and pouted.
"Nod fa."
"Wow."
Wendy said.
"What?"
Lucy asked.
" Huh? Oh nothing anyways that favor what was it?"
Wendy asked the celestial mage.
" You remember that spell you used on Natsu when he was motion sick on that boat?"
Lucy asked the younger girl.
" You mean Troia?"
"Yes, even after puking all over the place he's still insisting to go on a ride."
Lucy rubbed the aforementioned toddler head.
"I'm always happy to help."
Wendy said as she bent down to Natsu and she placed her hand on his forehead causing the boy to faintly glow.
"There all done."
Wendy said with a smile.
"Great, now I don't have to worry about him barfing all over me."
Gray grumbled still a bit annoyed from earlier.
How long will it last for?"
Lucy asked as she watched Natsu trying to get a hang on how weightless he feels.
"Probably just a few hours....I think."
Wendy said causing Carla to sigh.
"Honestly child you should know the length of your own spell."
Carla turned to Lucy.
"It'll last four hours exactly so make the best of it.
"That's more than enough time for him to..."
Lucy's words were cut off when she felt her shirt being tugged,Lucy looked down to Natsu tugging at her shirt.
"Mama wide mama wide!"
Natsu said as he was eager to get on more rides.
"Alright alright we'll go."
Lucy said as she turned to Wendy and Carla.
"Thanks again you two, we appreciate it."
"Anytime you guys."
Wendy said as she waved goodbye to the group.
Moments later Lucy and company made it to the rides. There were various attractions in the area that excited Natsu and Happy.
"Alright which one should we go on first?"
Lucy asked the boys
Natsu started scanning the area for a ride, his eyes then wandered into a ride with rotating teacups.
"Mama Mama!!"
Natsu shouted as he pointed to the teacups.
"You wanna get on that ride Natsu, I was thinking we should take it slow."
Lucy suggested to the boy but Natsu was adamant to do the teacups.
The celestial mage sighed.
"Teacups aren't that bad Lucy he should be fine...I think."
Gray said as he started walking to the ride.
"Hello, is it gonna be the four of you?"
The ride administrator asked.
"Ah ah ah!!"
Natsu was trying to run one of the teacups but Gray was holding the boy back.
"Yes please also we're with the guild."
Lucy said as she flashed her guild symbol.
"Alright you all can get in that one."
The man pointed to an empty teacup.
"Thanks."
Lucy said as her and the three other boys of their group sat inside the teacup.
The ride started to spin.
"Alright here we go."
Lucy said somewhat nervously.
"What's wrong Lucy are you getting scared."
Happy teased the blond mage.
"I'm not!"
Lucy said.
"If you say so...hey Natsu if you spin this wheel right here it'll make us all spin super fast."
Said the exceed with a mischievous smile.
Natsu rotated the wheel slowly at first and it made the cup spin a bit, upon realizing this Natsu started frantically spinning the center wheel causing the cup to spin fast.
"Ha ha ha ha!"
Natsu started laughing like a madman.
"Ahhh!!! too fast!".
Lucy shouted
"And here he is having the time of his life!"
Gray chided in noticing Natsu's pure joy.
Sometime later the teacups were slowing down indicating the ride was over.
Natsu and Happy got off the ride while Gray and Lucy were struggling to stand on their own as they both were in a daze.
"Heh heh gan gan!!"
Natsu shouted as he grabbed both Gray and Lucy's hands
"NO!"
The two teens shouted.
"I mean let's go get lunch first then we can do other rides later."
Lucy said sheepishly.
"Y yeah what....Lucy said."
Gray added as he was struggling to contain his nausea.
Natsu wanted to get on more rides, but he then realized that he was kinda hungry.
"Me hugwy Mama."
Said the boy.
"Great there should be a little place where we can grab some food."
Lucy said as she started leading the group around until found an area lined with different food stands and food trucks.
"I think this as good as it'll get...I just wish everything wasn't so....greasy"
Lucy shuddered at the thought of eating overly greasy food.
"That's the beauty of carnival food. Everything is bad for you."
Gray said as he started scanning for something to eat.
"Lucy, can I have some jewels for that stand? They have fried fish sandwiches."
Happy asked the blond.
"Only if you bring Natsu and help him pick out something to eat."
Lucy said as she handed Happy some jewel for the young exceed to buy his meal with.
"Thanks Lucy, c'mon Natsu let's get some food."
Happy said as he grabbed onto Natsu and he started flying off with child
"You know what you want? I may pass on eating any of this super greasy food."
Lucy said but her hunger would betray her as her stomach started rumbling.
"It won't hurt to eat any of this stuff once."
Gray said as he led Lucy to a food stand that had pizza slices.
"Two pepperoni please."
The man nodded and handed Gray two plates which held rather big slices of pepperoni pizzas.
"Thanks."
Gray paid the vendor and he went back to Lucy and held one of the plates in front of her.
"Here, have one on me."
Gray said to Lucy offering her the pizza slice.
Lucy saw that the pizza was dripping grease and it made her shudder a bit but she couldn't turn down the gesture.
"Thanks Gray."
Lucy said as she hesitantly took the pizza slice.
The two guild mates sat at a table and they started eating their pizza slices as they both started watching the various passerbys.
"So this whole baby business with Natsu, how have you been handling it?"
Gray asked the blond next to him seemingly out of nowhere.
"It's going alright although it does hold its challenges and I'm learning diapers are expensive."
Lucy and Gray chuckled.
"I guess I always knew he was full of crap."
Gray said, causing Lucy to laugh.
"Yeah."
Lucy said as she sighed.
"Gray....I don't think Natsu is gonna turn back to normal."
Lucy said with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"What makes you say that? Master is gonna find a way to make Natsu his usual self again."
Gray said as he tried to comfort Lucy.
"I know they are but black magic always tends to be permanent... I've been preparing for the worst case scenario.... It's the least I can after all what Natsu did for me ever since I joined the guild."
Lucy sighed as she took a bite of the pizza.
"This is good."
"Lucy, we'll find a way to fix Natsu.... but in case he stays like this... we'll help you out raising him, they always say it takes a whole village to raise a kid so me and all of Fairy Tail will give you a hand."
Gray assured Lucy.
"Thanks Gray...that makes me feel better."
Lucy said to the teen.
"We're back Lucy!
Happy shouted as he landed on the table with Natsu holding a bag.
"Me ged fewd Mama."
Natsu said proudly.
"Well that's good did you get something you like?"
Lucy asked the boy.
"I got him chicken nuggets but we won't have come back sooner but Natsu kept on eating the fire that heated the fryer."
Happy explained to Lucy.
"That's Natsu for you."
Gray said as he finished off his pizza.
"No kidding."
Lucy chided in as she finished off her pizza slice.
"C'mon Natsu hurry up and eat so we can do more stuff."
Happy said to the toddler as both him and Natsu started to quickly eat their respective meals.
"You two slow down, we have plenty of time to hop on the rides."
Lucy said to the boys but her words fell of deaf ears as Natsu and Happy wolfed down their meals.
"Done!!"
Both the boys chimed.
"Damn, the appetite in these two."
Gray said, shocked at how easily and quickly they are their meals.
"Well they really want to enjoy the festival."
Lucy said as she took a wet wipe and started wiping Natsu's face much to the boy's displeasure.
After the group finished cleaning up after themselves they left the picnic area to explore more of the festival grounds looking for new things to do.
Natsu started looking around at all the colorful sights if it was almost too much to take in for someone so young and he wanted to try each and every one but something distracted Natsu for a bit and it wasn't another attraction.
"This is so much fun! I'm glad you brought me here babe."
A rather young woman said as she held onto what appeared to be her boyfriend
"Anything for my girl."
Said the aforementioned boyfriend as he kissed his girlfriend.
Natsu looked at the couple curiously but before he could really focus on them another group caught his attention.
"Come on sweetie you got this Mommy and Daddy believe in you!!"
A woman shouted cheering on her daughter at the test of strength.
"Come on Tara show that bell whose boss!"
The father shouted as he cheered on the child.
The little girl slammed the hammer down causing the bell to ring.
"YEAH!!"
The daughter jumped for joy as she ran to her parents hugging them both.
Natsu stared at the family for a few seconds as he noticed that the girl's Mama and Daddy were doing something that his Mama and Daddy weren't doing.
"Here we go 1..2..3!"
"Where!"
Natsu then turned his head to see another family who was gently swinging their child, the child was holding the hands of both her parents as they swung her.
Hands...hold... holding hands! It all clicked for Natsu, his Mama and Daddy weren't holding hands like what the other couple and the families were doing. Natsu started wondering how come his Mama and Daddy don't hold hands or kiss each other, maybe they just forgot that Natsu understands this since he forgets a bunch of things too, Natsu decided to help his Mommy and Daddy remember. So the boy grabs Gray's hand and he makes him hold hands with Lucy.
"What the?"
Huh?
Lucy and Gray looked down and noticed what Natsu made them do and they both started blushing as they simultaneously jerked their hands away.
"Hey! what's the big idea Natsu."
Grey said to the boy
"Yeah Natsu don't...I mean Gray is tired and he can hold hands.....with me."
Lucy said as she blushed.
"Ohh Natsu trying to play matchmaker."
Happy said as he mischievously snickered.
"Shut it cat."
Gray said as he turned his head away to hide his blushing cheeks.
That's weird when Mama and Daddy held hands they started acting strange. Natsu thought about this and since his Mama and Daddy won't hold hands maybe they like kisses instead, so Natsu raised his hands up to indicate to Lucy he wanted to be picked up when Lucy picked up the boy, Natsu took his chance and he pulled on Gray's shirt yanking the ice make teen to Lucy's face. Lucy and Gray's lips were mere inches from each other but Gray caught himself, there was a moment of pause between the two mages before they both started blushing, realizing the compromising position they were in they both quickly turned away Lucy was blushing a bright red.
"Mama....Daddy?"
Natsu thought his parents were acting strange don't parents usually kiss each other?
"Damn brat! What's your deal!!"
Gray shouted at Natsu
"Natsu! What you did was not okay, you understand"
Lucy scolded the boy.
While the boy was being scolded Natsu started tearing and sniffling. What did he do wrong? He just wanted Mama and Daddy to love each other like he saw the other Mama and Daddies do.
"Waaaaaaaah!!"
Natsu started crying loudly as the tears that were forming in his eyes were flowing freely.
"Don't cry Natsu, it's okay."
Happy said to the boy trying to comfort him.
"You guys are mean, you didn't have to yell at him like that."
Happy said as tried to get Natsu to feel better.
Lucy and Gray looked at Natsu then at each other, maybe they were a little too harsh on the boy.
"Balloons get your balloons here!"
Gray turned around to see a balloon vendor nearby.
"Hey Natsu, we're sorry, would you stop crying if you got a balloon?"
Gray said to the boy causing Natsu to stifle his cries.
"Yeah that's a nice balloon any color you want but if you want one you're gonna have to cut it out with the crying, cool guys don't cry."
Gray said to the boy causing Natsu to wipe his face on his sleeves.
"W w wan bwoon."
Natsu said to Gray as he held onto his appointed father's hand.
Gray led Natsu over to the balloon vendor and the man greeted them.
"Hello how can I help you?"
Asked the man.
"One red balloon for the kid."
Gray said as he handed the man one jewel.
"Here you are."
Said the balloon vendor, handing the balloon to Gray.
After receiving the balloon Gray lightly ties the balloon cord around Natsu's wrist.
"There, happy now."
Gray said to the boy
Natsu looked at his balloon at amazement it was cool to look at, now he kinda wanted another.
"Bwoon!"
Natsu jumped up as he pointed at the balloons the vendor had.
"No you are not getting another one Natsu."
Gray said to the boy, but that was when Natsu started whimpering.
"Daddy bwoon."
Said the boy.
Gray sighed.
"Fine, but no more after this one."
Gray said as he bought another balloon and he tied it on Natsu's other wrist.
"Bwoon bwoon!!"
Natsu shouted excitedly as he jumped around with his two new balloons.
"You got your balloons, now let's go."
Gray said as he grabbed Natsu's hand so he could lead them back to the group.
"Mama mama wook wook!!"
Natsu ran over to Lucy.
"Yes Natsu what is it?"
Lucy asked the boy.
"Me haf bwoon! Daddy ged me bwoon."
Natsu said, showing his two balloons to Lucy.
"I see, they're nice balloons sweetie. Did you say thank you to Gray?"
Lucy asked the boy.
Natsu ran to Gray and hugged him as tight as he could.
"Tank oo Daddy."
Natsu said to the teen causing Gray to blush.
"Yeah whatever let's just get going okay."
Gray said as the group continued walking around the fairgrounds.
Sometime later the group had stopped for ice cream and cotton candy which was just enough sugar to Natsu his second wind to want more rides but which the group did attend various rides from bumper cars, tilt a whirls, and even a whole roller coaster. But after a while Gray and Lucy were out of energy to ride anymore rides.
"Why does he have to enjoy so many rides."
Lucy said as she felt like the world was spinning.
"I thought he hated it."
Gray said as he was trying not to puke.
Natsu and Happy continued to play with each other, both boys still hopped up on the sugar high from the sweets they had earlier. While Natsu was chasing Happy he stopped when he saw a little kid with a dog face painted over his face.
"Doggy!!!"
"WHERE!!"
Happy quickly hid behind Lucy.
"I think he's talking about the boy who had his face paint to look like a dog."
Lucy explained to Happy.
"Right, I knew that."
Happy said putting on a veil of false bravado.
"Mama mama mama!!"
Natsu tugged on Lucy's arm.
"Yes Natsu."
Lucy asked the hyper boy but she noticed the boy was looking at a face painter.
"You want face painted?"
Lucy asked, earning a vigorous nod from him.
"Well alright let's go, we'll be back Gray."
Lucy said as she led Natsu to the face painter.
"Cool, we'll be here."
Gray said as he laid on a park bench.
Lucy and Natsu walked over to the face painter
"Hello what can I do for you two today.
The painter greeted Lucy.
"Hello, I was wondering if you could paint my kid's face."
Lucy asked the man.
"Of course, what kind of animal do you want, little guy?"
The painter asked the boy.
"Me wan be dwago!"
Natsu said to the man.
"A dragon huh, let's do it."
"Now Natsu stay still."
Lucy said to the boy
"Otay!"
After Natsu got his face painted Lucy thanked the man and left to go back to Gray and Happy.
"Me dwago!"
Natsu said jumping around as if he was flying.
"Even though he's a handful, he's super cute!"
Lucy said.
"He's something I can say that much."
Gray said.
Sometime later Natsu and Happy had both gotten tired and we're being carried by Lucy and Gray respectively. The two teens figured that they should call it a day and head home.
Gray decided to walk Lucy home so she didn't have to carry the two boys by herself.
"That was quite the day huh?"
Gray asked Lucy.
"Yeah it was fun, can't believe I miss so many of these."
Lucy said as she looked over to Natsu, whom of which was being carried by Gray.
"I know they definitely had fun."
"Yeah, and just like these two, I'm done for today I could go for a nap."
Gray said.
Soon the group made it to Lucy's house, the two teens laid the two boys on a nearby couch and as Gray was leaving him and Lucy looked at each other.
"Hey, sorry about earlier. I don't know why Natsu was trying to do what he did."
Lucy said as she started blushing.
"It's okay, really it is."
Gray said as he also started blushing.d
There was a brief moment of silence.
Gray cleared his throat.
"Well I should get going Lucy."
Gray said as he waved goodbye.
"Right' I'll see you around Gray."
Lucy said as she waved goodbye to Gray.
After Gray left Lucy sighed.
"Do I....maybe...I don't really even know I feel that way..why is it so strange."
Lucy said to herself, but she stopped when she sniffed the air and smelled something a little foul.
"Eww, I guess that's Natsu."
Lucy said as she picked up the boy.
"Well you needed a bath anyways."
Lucy said as she picked up Natsu and carried him off to get him cleaned up.
