Hi everyone! This is my first story I've ever written... Just to warn you I'm correcting this all by myself and I'm sorry in advance for any mistakes. Another thing to add, I'm in school (my school is all year round), so I will try to update as often as possible. Thanks!

Chapter One:

Please for the love of God accidentally stab yourself with that pen.

How hard is it to look at someone while they are speaking to you? I roll my eyes at my boss who sat behind the wooden mahogany desk. It wasn't like he'd notice me doing someone so disrespectful.

"Paisley, this is a business, a multi-billion dollar business at that, not a daycare." Dallas Carson, my boss and CEO of Carson Enterprises, stated in his usual stern tone.

I let out an inaudible sigh before taking a step closer to his desk and practically pleading," I know, sir, it's just my babysitter is having to leave Europe to take care of her Mother. I promise, Hayden will only be here at the most a few days until I can get another babysitter. Please Mr. Carson."

Trust me I know what you're thinking, why can't she give him to a buddy? I already asked Maggie, my best friend, but she has work the same hours I do. And I couldn't give my baby to Satan's Mistress, my mother, either.

Watching as the different emotions cross his face before a passive looks envelopes it fully and he replies,"Fine, but this brat better not interrupt my staff or your work." I tried to let go that he called my baby a brat, so I placed the smile that was digging to come out and clasped my hands together and informed,"Thank you! The babysitter is dropping him off in twenty minutes in the lobby."

The smile didn't leave my face as I walk out of his office with the box of files he told me needed to be organised in alphabetical order. I set the box down behind my desk as I started taking out files one by one. Well, I've been working for that robot for about three years now as his assistant. I keep waiting for the promotion I've been hoping, praying to get, but he never seems to give it to me.

After about fifteen minutes of steady working, I stand up from the floor where I've been sitting and enter the 'staff-only' elevator. I pass my weight from foot to foot excited to see my baby early. I guess it's just a mom thing, the excitement that overwhelms you when you see the face of your own flesh. The elevator finally came to a full stop and I walked out to find Ella already there with the baby carriage in one hand and the diaper bag in the other.

"Thank you so much Ella for dropping him off to me! I hope your mother gets better and have a great time in Europe." I tell her with a sad smile as I awkwardly hug the woman. Taking the baby carriage out of her hand and slinging the diaper bag over my shoulder, I wave bye to her before I made my way back to my office with my sleeping honey bunches.

Back at the office was a nightmare.

There was so much hustle and bustle, ringing of phones, and just plain office sounds woke Hayden. I let out a groan as he struggled to get out of the car seat. I unbuckled the buckles of the belts before pulling his arms through. He was just learning to walk. Looking through the diaper bag, I pulled out his favorite toys before grabbing a blanket and laying it behind my desk, wouldn't want him to get trampled. I picked up my two year old who was busy playing with his bubbles and sat him in a sitting position around his toys, so he could play while I worked. I wouldn't want to angry the bull.

After situating Hayden I resumed putting the files back in alphabetical order. Every once in a whole I would take a glance back at my son to make sure he wasn't getting into any trouble.

An hour passed by quickly and I was finally done organising. I picked up the box of files and looked back at my son wondering if I could leave him while I dropped this off to the boss. Finally deciding I couldn't since Hayden was taking a sudden interest in the filing drawers against the far wall. I took the box in one arm before bending down and scooping my bundle of joy up. Walking towards the bosses office, I used my elbow to knock on the door before opening it with the same elbow. Wow, look at those mom skills!

"Hello, sir, I have the files you wanted me to organise done in alphabetical order like you asked. Where do you want it?" I ask after walking into the roomy office.

Mr. Carson glanced up at me before taking a double-take at the toddler in my arms. "Oh, uh, you can just set it in the chair right there. I hope you remember today is the day where you stay behind and organise my agenda for the next two weeks with me." He reminds me as he looks back at his computer and continue to type away.

"Oh...yes I remember, I'll come in at 5:00pm when my day ends to help you." I agree, but at that same moment, Hayden decides it's the right time to start crying. Not in front of the boss. I put on a sheepish smile as I set the box down before walking out of the office with a wailing child. Cooing to my son, I try to calm him down by slowly rocking him back an forth. I glance at the clock, 2:00pm, nap time. Sighing I continue doing so, until his breathing evens out and he's fast asleep.

Tonight was going to be a long one.
