X. Like the plague

Engineering Department

"7 MORE LAPS AROUND THE FIELD!!! THOSE WHO LAGS BEHIND WILL STAY!!!"

All first year engineering students immediately obeyed the command of their hazing leader. Forth with his usual red SOTUS shirt, wasn't in his usual friendly mood, this earned a multitude of eyebrow raising from the hazing members. All first years also noticed Forth's dark mood which made them more obedient in hopes of avoiding the wrath of the said leader.

"Hey! Aren't you too moody today?" Lam asked as inched slowly besides Forth.

Forth didn't reply, only grunting to Lam's question. Knowing that he won't have an answer, Lam quickly gave up from further asking Forth. Lam couldn't exactly pinpoint the reason why Forth is being sour today but he had a hunched.

Forth had creases lining on his forehead as he watched the freshmen slowed down on their third lap around the oval. He directed his eyes towards the medic bay and back again to the students who are all lagging now on their fourth lap. He yelled again to order them to fasten their running.

"3 MORE LAPS LEFT SO FASTEN YOUR PACE OR ALL OF YOU WILL REPEAT THOSE 3 LAPS!!"

Lam rolled his eyes as the freshmen pick up their pace to the hazing leader's order. He was about to tell Forth to give the freshmen some slacks when the leader of the medical team showed up. Forth saw this and so his attention was transferred on the other side of the field, watching the doctor hands something to his subordinates.

As soon as the doctor arrive as soon he also leaves the area. Beam immediately returned to his car after giving the medical team instructions. Forth frowned at the retreating vehicle of the said doctor, exiting the parking area.

One medical staff carrying what seems to be a folder approached the hazing leader. It was Fai from the nursing department, the vice leader of the medical team. Lam greets the approaching nursing student first.

"What's up, Fai?" Lam asked as he high-five the guy.

"Hey, Beam just dropped this off." Fai answered, passing the folder to Forth.

Forth accepted the folder and flips it open. there's a small ream of authorization letter inside it. Forth looks at Fai questionably and asked, "Whats this?"

"Oh yeah, Beam told me to give that to you to sign so that he could give that to the Student Affairs Office." Fai explained as Forth reads the letter's content. It was a request for the medical team to go out with the Engineering Department for their Sotus outreach program.

"Just give it back to me after you finished signing all the papers." He added.

The nursing student then turns to the direction of the rest of medical team when Forth called for him. He was 5 steps away when Forth remembers to ask about Beam.

"Fai, wait!" Forth shouts, "Why is your team leader been missing out 2 hazing activities?"

The nursing student quirked his eyebrows, fully knowing the history between the two leaders. He fought down a grin threatening to show on his face. Letting out a cough to collect himself.

"I'm not really sure about that but he mentioned that they have another block coming so...." Fai continued, "His class has been having a review class."

"Hmm..." Forth hummed.

"Anything else?" Fai asked to make sure.

"Ah! Yeah! Don't worry about the papers. I'll just deliver this myself to him." Forth said.

"Yeah, sure" Fai grinned before running back to the medical bay.

Apparently, it's been almost a week since Forth last saw the pretty doctor. A Forth without his fix is an irritable one. Especially if the said fix still have five digits to give.

"Oh!! Now I know why you've been acting like someone who have a stick up on his ass." Lam laughed out loud.

"I don't think it's a review class." Forth cried.

"What?" Lam asked, still laughing.

"I think he's been avoiding me since that night I took him out!!" Forth exclaimed.

"You think?!"

"Well...I'm not sure..." Forth mumbled.

Lam laughed again, "I really have to thank you for entertaining me with your pretty doctor's problem...but right now..." Lam nodged Forth to face forward where the freshmen are all lined up, waiting for the hazing leader's command.

"...You have the duty of a hazing leader." Lam finished.

Forth blinked owlishly at the freshmen who are all trying to catch their breath. He was so invested with the doctor's absent that he didn't notice that the freshmen had finished running all 10 laps. And now he feels really guilty for expressing his irritation towards the freshmen.

Forth cleared his throat as he straightened his posture.

"DISMISSED!!" Forth shouted.

It only took a minute for all freshmen to dispersed in the field to go their separate ways. He quickly turned to Lam and waved the folder on his face. Lam quickly swatted the folder out of his face to give Forth a withering look.

"You're embarrassing as fuck!!" Lam complained.

"I'll just have to give this to him!!" Forth said as he waved the folder on Lam's face once again.

Department of Medicine

A day after Forth recieved the papers from the medic's vice leader, Forth found himself making his way towards the Medical Department. It was lunch so he had to go against a current of busy students before he could spot the pretty doctor walking with the the rest of the crazy doctor gang. With the folder tucked under his arms, he run after the doctors.

"Beam!!" Forth called out.

Forth saw the man stop to look behind. Beam met his eyes for a brief second but Beam swiftly returned his sight forward. To say that Forth was baffled was an understatement but nonetheless he was determined to face the medical team leader.

Forth's suspicion that Beam was avoiding him was confirmed when the doctor ushered his friends forward hurriedly. At this, Forth also picked up his pace to chase after his target.

"Aish!! Did I do something wrong that he's avoiding me like the plague?" Forth thought as he dodged the students on his way.

Yay!! I'm so thankful that I got to update for the third time this month but at the same I'm sorry for the slow updates. I hope I could update once a week for the next month because when June arrives, I'll be busy again.

There's no really interaction between Forth and Beam in here so I hope this chapter haven't dissapointed you (Mianhe)(Khor Tud Kha).
