Chapter 3
-Day 1 Part 3-
Cory, Carrie and I got off the taxi after it stopped in front of a dress shop.
"C'mon! Let's go!" the impatient Carrie threw her arms up in the air excitedly.
Cory laughed at my best friend as we walked into the shop.
"Welcome! What dresses interest you?" a friendly salesgirl asked.
"We're looking for a dress that is suitable for prom," Carrie replied, scanning the shop for dresses.
"That's nice. Come this way, there are plenty of uniquely designed dresses," the salesgirl replied.
"Do you sell tuxedos too?" Cory asked.
"They're on the right side of the shop entrance. I'll get my colleague to help you," she said.
"Thanks," Cory said and walked over to the other side of the shop.

"I can't believe we took three hours to decide which dress we'd buy!" I exclaimed.
"Sorry... Didn't mean to take that long..." Carrie apologised.
"That's okay, actually. At least you've got something that you like. That's all that matters," comforted Cory.
That boy.
"I'll head home first, then! Bye girls, see ya both tomorrow!" Cory waved goodbye.
We waved back and I told Carrie that I wanted to go home too.
"Okay," she said. "Then I guess I'll have the bacon and fizzy drinks all to myself."
"You have bacon and fizzy drinks?" I asked, wide-eyed.
"Not with me now. They're at my house. Wanna come over and chill out with them?"
Homework was the first word that came to my mind when she asked that.
"Another day, Carrie. I've got homework to do," I rejected politely.
"Sheesh! I never knew my best friend was a goody-two-shoes..." Carrie muttered.
I laughed and promised that I would go over the next day. With that promise, I left Carrie and went home.

"Hello honey! Back so late? Where did you go?" mum asked the moment I stepped into the house.
"Carrie and I went to shop for our prom dresses. Cory came along and bough himself a tux."
"Can I have a look at the dress you bought?" mum asked. I beckoned for her to follow me into my room and I showed her the dress.
"Wow!"she exclaimed. "You're totally my daughter. Such good taste you have!"
My prom dress was a light pink dress that was slightly above my knee. It had spaghetti stripes and a medium-sized ribbon was in the middle of my waistline.
"That's why I chosed it! Haha!" I told mum.
"Come, let's have dinner. It's ready. After that, do your homework and revision. When you're done, it's your free time until sleeping time," mum said, pulling me down for dinner.

Ahh, I feel so light now, I've had dinner and done my homework. So now, it's free time!
I switched on my computer and played a few games until it was time to sleep.
Tossing and turning, I couldn't sleep at all! I opened the curtain and the window next to my bed.
The air was really fresh and cooling. I could hear cats meowing and babies muffled crying.
Okay, it isn't supposed to be scary noises, just normal 'every night' sounds.
The wind blew on my face effortlessly, making me even more awake.
I looked up at the beautifully glowing moon and the bright, twinkling stars.
My mind raced back to today's little chat with Cory - the one about Stanley having a secret crush on me.
It was so hard to believe. Stanley was the cutest and richest boy in the school. He and Cory were close friends.
I thought about how Stanley acted in class in the afternoon, and I realised that Stanley had like me for a really long time after putting two and two together.
It also dawned on me that Stanley had not dated anyone since he broke up with Amber Green.
He must have been admiring me from afar and I was so silly to not know.
Eventually, I fell asleep as I was really tired.
