Chapter 4

-Day 2 Part 1-

I reached school early next morning and a boy named Ben Rightner came forth and asked me to the prom. Of course, I said yes. At leas now, I already have a partner. Ben was just like Carrie and I. The three of us didn't know how to socialise well.

"Really? You'll go with me to the prom? Ben asked disbelievingly.

"Of course! Would I lie to ya?"

"No! Of course not! I was just... Well, it was an unexpected answer. I kinda thought someone asked you already."

"Nah, not exactly."

"So... I'll see you in the chemistry lab later," Ben said, winking.

I nodded and waved goodbye at his retreating figure.

We had a mini surprise class test at chemistry lesson today, and I think I'm going to fail it. Chemistry wasn't my cup of tea, no matter how much I revised for it.

"What was your answer for question 17?" Carrie asked at recess.

"Option 2," I said. "You?"

"That's weird, I got option 1."

"How did you get option 1?"

"Cuz I'm a genius and you're bad at science."

I glared at her when she said that. At least my other subjects could pull my overall grades up.

We went to the playground again after our meal. I saw Ben heading in our direction and I remembered that he was my prom partner. I turned and whispered to Carrie.

"See that boy over there? He's my prom partner."

"Ben?! Wow, can't believe he had the guts to ask you."

"Haha," I said sarcastically.

"Well, at least you've got yourself a prom partner," Carrie pointed out.

"Hi girls! How did you think you did for the test?" Ben asked.

"Bad," we said in unison.

"It's alright. At least you can learn from your mistakes," I heard a familiar voice.

Cory.

"Yeah, that's true," Ben agreed.

"What brings you here?" I asked.

"I would like to talk to you in private. Can I? It won't take too long," Cory said, pulling me away from where Carrie and Ben were.

When we were out of Carrie and Ben's view, Cory started to talk to me softly.

"Chels," he started.

"Yeah?"

"Well, it's about Stanley. He's kinda shy to ask you to go out on a date with him..."

"And I'm guessing he got you to ask me on his behalf?"

"What a smart girl you are."

I grinned.

"So... Will you go out with him? It's today. After school. Meet him at the car park.

I nodded. "Let's see if he can impress me!"

After school ended, I walked to the car park and saw Stanley leaning against a red sports car.

"Yours?" I asked.

"Seems like you don't see me driving it to school every morning huh?" he smirked, making me roll my eyes.

"So where are we going?" I asked.

"Hop in, cheesecake. You'll find out when we get there."
